Don't know if it was because I made the res through hotels.com, but it was the worst room I ever saw. It was tiny and cramped and you had to walk through the bathroom to get to a sitting area. Immediatly left and went next door to the Grand Summit. Lost money on it of course but no way I was staying there.

Lost and Found Run Around

My husband and I stayed here August 2, 2019 as a couple’s staycation. The reason I’m reviewing them months later is reason for the 2 star review.

The hotel grounds itself were beautiful and well maintained. The rooms lovely and comfortable. Most of the staff helpful.

HOWEVER, on the evening of our stay, having returned to our room after the bed turn down maid service, I soon realized that I had missing clothes!! I called down and explained how I had FOLDED DIRTY clothes in a plastic bag on the floor next to my suitcase and that must have either 1. somehow been mistaken for trash (trash usually doesn’t include folded clothes NOT next to a trash can, but I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, or 2. they had been stolen (aka deliberately taken) by maid service as it was there 3 hours previous.

This is where almost 2.5 MONTHS of a run around (that had become an issue in the first place because of THEIR negligence) begins. The night staff was still there. The maid was asked. She denied seeing what was missing. The trash was supposedly checked. It wasn’t found. So upon check out the next morning I’m told to download a 3rd party Lost and Found app, describe the items, put in a claim, and hope for the best. I did so.

I then received an email 1 week later stating the “case” is DROPPED as the items weren’t found. What?!?! You can’t just drop a case for STOLEN clothes, with no compensation whatsoever, no apology, NOTHING. And we are only talking $60ish total of stolen goods here. But at this point I call the security department at the hotel.

I call them and explain the situation. They acted like they had never heard this experience before even though it was on their incident report.
What ensues then for the next 2 months is my “case” being looked at as to what the solution should be. I was told you’ll hear from us within 2 weeks. NOPE. So I call back (#2) and ask for a status update. AGAIN, new person in security department who had no idea what incident I was talking about, even after giving dates and description (Communication problem in the security log book, or amongst coworkers, or hotel computer??).

At this point it is a matter of RESPECT and INTEGRITY for me as a guest, not the $. I’m told ,”ok do XYZ, we’ll do XYZ with corporate and get back to you.” NOPE!! I call back weeks later (#3) to another new, confused security guy who can’t find this incident or any status update anywhere! This one at least replied back with phone calls and texts, even though he was rude on the phone accusing me of being another incident complainer and that the problem had already been solved. Nope, that wasn’t me. He realized his mistake after and apologized saying he thought I was someone else.

I’m finally told the next day VIA A TEXT message that the case is “officially closed” and there is NO solution!! There was nothing they can do, there is no compensation for my stolen clothes, no discount on your next stay for the inconvenience of the runaround the last 2.5 months, no free hot cocoa next time you stay with us as an apology, nothing. Because “people LOSE stuff here everyday and there’s no way to prove it wasn’t just lost, not stolen.” WOW!!!!

I informed them this could have saved me a lot of time and aggravation had they just given me their “solution” way sooner, that it wasn’t lost it was stolen, and that the way they treated me was very unprofessional. I have never been treated this disrespectfully by hotel staff in my entire life, and I travel A LOT.

Moral of the story?....I will NEVER stay here again, would not recommend someone stay here if this is how they treat their guests, or... stay at your own risk of ANY AMOUNT OF VALUABLES BEING STOLEN and you having to suck it up and getting the runaround while you do it. Happy travels.

Hotel is like a maze. Loud room

We had to move rooms 3 times - due to construction noise in the first room and a lack of privacy in the 2nd room which had a connecting hollow-core door providing no privacy or sound mitigation. We could hear the conversations next door, loud and clear.

Hallways were difficult to navigate. If, for instance, you wanted to get from the lobby to the burger bar the signage is not super clear along the way. Oddly laid out hotel - definitely not very well thought through from a space planning perspective.

Maybe we would have rated this place higher if we were here during one of the peak seasons but we just weren’t impressed; and we generally like most of the places we stay when we get away. But at this point I would not come back to this hotel.
