Great spot, ski valet is key
Reviewed 1 day ago

This is our second time visiting park city and staying at Westgate, we booked the room through homeaway and it was on the top floor. Great layout to the room, the staff is so nice and helpful and the ski valet is awesome, you just register your skis and call them in the morning and they bring them right to the gondola. We skied all week except It was too busy on a Friday, almost a 2 hour wait (lots of powder) for the gondola so we opted to drove down to park city and get on the town lift which was cool. The restaurants are nice, no real lodge, lots of smaller restaurants though. Hot tubs were great as well. You have to bring everything for the kitchen including coffee filters, it would have been nice to know that but that might be because we rented through home away. We can’t wait to go back!

Westgate Park City is the greatest place for a ski vacation!
Reviewed 5 days ago

Our family has stayed at Westgate Park City for many years. It’s a great place for a ski or summer vacation. The staff is friendly and effecient. The rooms are beautiful and beds are excellent. Westgate has a huge indoor - outdoor pool and pool activity area which is great for families. The kids club and game room are also wonderful for parents and families to enjoy. Canyons Village is a wonderful place to ski for all ages of all abilities. Westgate is our favorite vacation home!

Logistical Challenges Holding Back An Otherwise Excellent Property
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Just returned from 5 night family ski trip at Westgate. Once you get over the logistical challenges and maze-like layout, it turns out this is a pretty great place to take your family skiing. Check-in was a disaster. We arrived at 4:30 pm on New Year's Day and our room was not ready and many other families appeared to be in similar straits. By 5:30, the room was still not ready and the front desk properly extended us a $150 food/beverage credit which was appreciated. And by 6:15, the front desk further righted the situation by moving us into a larger room (I did ask at check in if other rooms were possibly ready and was initially told no but I guess that changed). I also had major problems with the skis and luggage I shipped out in advance as only one of our bags could be found by guest services (I had to go into the storage area myself to remedy the situation, this after coordinating with the hotel in advance of my arrival and confirming with FedEx that the bags had in fact arrived). The hotel may have the worst layout I have ever seen--multiple elevators and concourses and stairs needed to get from one part of the property to the other. They should seriously consider shutting down and re-configuring. But all of that being said, once we got settled, the property turned out to be great. The room was spacious and always well cleaned with full kitchen, steamshower and comfortable bed (even sofabed was good). The indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs, while crowded, were clean and very nice along with the steam sauna and shower. Kids enjoyed the Gold Mine arcade and the food and drink at DBB was consistently good (never made it to steakhouse). Skier services was a highlight too--just call in the AM and your skis are waiting at the Red Pine gondola and drop them off when you're done. I also liked the self-park option and easy in/out of the garage. In summary, I would return here and I appreciated that the hotel acknowledged its problems with the room upgrade and the food/beverage credit. But be prepared that despite all of the 4 diamond award plaques hanging in the lobby, this place does not operate with the same level of polished service of a typical large chain hotel.

Terrible

This place is a logistical nightmare. Takes an exorbitant amount of time to get on the slopes for someplace that claims to be ski in/ski out. Seriously you could spend the same amount of money and stay in a much better location. I highly recommend finding another location to stay.

Comfortable, Good service

Took the family for a ski trip to the Canyons and decided to stay at Westgate as it is located near a few steps away from the Canyons Gondola. Overall the hotel is well maintained, friendly staff, and has a good mix of amenities; indoor/outdoor pool area, excellent spa, game room. There are a few restaurant choices at the hotel and in the plaza area near the hotel as well there's a cafe in the lobby. our room had a full kitchen.

For those looking for a kosher option, this hotel is located across the street from the kosher restaurant at the Canyons. Very convenient.

there are multiple locations at or near the hotel to rent skis, buy lift tickets and sign up/start ski lessons. Another nice perk is that valet parking is free/included in room rate. in the afternoons there were daily activities in the Canyons plaza; when we were there there was ice sculpting, make your own doughnuts, smores, and fireworks. Nice post/skiing activities for the family.

Things at make this a 3 vs 5 star rating:
-The hotel is a bit of a maze, getting in and out (depending on what floor you are on) takes a bit of getting used to.
-The sofa beds in our room were completely uncomfortable, while it is a sofa bed it will never be as comfortable as a regular bed but the ones in our room both the mattress and springs were so old that they no longer support even a small kid.
-we had an issue with one of the heaters making noise that kept us up at night, it was repaired the next day but the rooms need to be better maintained.
