How to Get There
Kids had a great time. You can take your book and relax while the kids run through the park. It's safe and friendly. I had an 11 year old and and 8 year old and they would go back again and again. Best thing for grandparents who don't want to be in the sun.
Reservation misleading. The child bunk beds are for toddlers, so small and short that our son did not fit in the bed. Dirty sheets, pillow cases, counter tops, bathroom floor and toilet. Trash in the hotel hallways from plastic spoons and candy. Front desk loudly spoke our room number out loud during check in. This is a security and safety issue. VERY disappointed by all that was offered, with a price during our stay. Will never stay at this hotel or chain again.
This was our 7th trip to GWL in Cincy. It is clear that the resort is not being maintained to prior standards. Magi Quest was down for days, arcade games had multiple ticket malfunctions, trip twist only had 1 double raft available for the entire park. Buffet was the same every night and sometimes had only no one available to cut meat off the beef and ham. If you have little kids that are only interested in the wolf walk, dance party, crafts, and smaller rides they will probably have fun. But our older kids (11 and 13) that have LOVED going for years were really disappointed.
My family thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Staff were exceptional and friendly. Have already booked our next trip. Breakfast buffet was very good and well worth the price. Grandchildren loved the themed room and trips to the arcade.
We went for an overnight stay before we went to Kings Island the next day. I called ahead the day prior to make sure we were put into a clean room and was told they couldn’t do anything, rooms are assigned upon arrival. Sure enough, the room smelled of mildew/mold. We wiped everything down with Lysol wipes and sprayed with Lysol but it still smelled. When I cleaned the air conditioning unit, there was actually mold visible along the grates. I let them know via their “Willow” text of the issue (as well as the fact that our view was of the parking lot-super bummer) where they offered to send housekeeping to “get rid of the smell.” One of the kids has allergies, I didn’t want them to come and spray strong deodorizers and make the situation worse. We tried to stay out of the room as much as possible. When I woke from one of the worst nights of sleep, my nose was completely clogged. Two of the kids were also having trouble with stuffy noses/eye irritation. I get it, it’s a water park, things in the rooms get wet. I think the carpets have been down too long and thorough cleaning has been neglected. I couldn’t stand to walk on them in bare feet, they were actually sticky and damp everywhere in the room. Chalk it up to another disappointing stay at the Great Wolf Lodge-Mason.
