How to Get There
We stayed in the Lincoln Suite a couple of days ago and had a wonderful experience. The room was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The historic nature of the house and the presidential touches are both enjoyable and fun for anyone with a sense of humor. Breakfast was excellent and served in the beautiful dining room. We enjoyed a fascinating conversation with our host John and the other guests. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night but will definitely return. Highly recommend.
What a perfect weekend in a lovely home with outstanding breakfast every morning and inviting conversation with the hosts and guests. Our hosts were welcoming and we especially appreciated their sense of humor. We stayed in the Washington room and loved the setup. We were also able to walk to the colonial area with ease.
I found this place on TripAdvisor when looking for a place within walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. It’s about a 10 - 15 minute walk to where the Colonial area begins. You can buy your tickets at a booth then take the shuttle to the visitors center to see the movie and exhibits, then shuttle to first stop in the Colonial area. The Inn is right cross the street from historic William and Mary College. It’s a small, quiet college town. The Inn is White House themed has wonderful details in every room. There is a Kennedy Library full of books about US history, etc. We sat there one evening to read because it was so welcoming. There’s another well decorated room with a fireplace that must be nice on cold evenings and where they serve wine and a small treat in the evening. The small breakfast area is also charming and breakfasts were very good. They serve promptly at 9 am. Every room or suite you stay in is named after a president. We stayed in the Teddy Roosevelt room which had a bedroom and small livingroom area. It was decorated tastefully with many details relating to the president. It’s a very clean place and we were impressed with the decor. It all added a fun flavor to our history themed trip which started in DC.
