Quaint and Quiet Get-away!
Reviewed 4 days ago

We stayed at Berry Hill last weekend to visit family in the area and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel was originally booked for Friday night but when I called a few days out they had a cancellation and we were able to stay two nights and they upgraded us to a room with a lower level “balcony” to make taking our dog out easier. This was so very nice and made our stay that much more enjoyable. We were also able to request a fridge in the room upon arrival and it was delivered promptly!

As others mentioned the service can be a little strained in the dining outlets on busy weekends, there were two wedding parties on property during our stay, but what they lack in speed they make up for in friendliness! All of our servers were delightful but Jessie went out of her way getting a to-go order of blackberry cobbler put in for us before the kitchen closed for us to take back to our balcony rocking chairs to enjoy! And while there may have been two wedding parties on property we didn’t hear anything but crickets and frogs from a nearby pond!

We really had a nice relaxing get a-way at the Berry Hill and almost extended our stay another night because we really did not want to leave! If it wasn’t for the 10 hour drive home we would probably still be there!

Nice Hotel, Sevice issues at meals

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was a historic property in a quaint rural setting. The Inn grounds were nice and our rooms were pretty large and very comfortable. They were obviously updated. The bathroom was nicely done and the bath amenities were good quality. The room cleaning was also good. The front desk seemed a bit disorganized, but they seemed to want everything to go well, especially the front desk manager. in the end they made sufre any ossues were taken care of. also, their mothers day brunch buffet was exellent, although a little pricey. But the brunch made up for the other two on premise restaurants, which had some service issues. we really enjoyed our stay and liked the area a lot.

Berry Hill Resort amazing weekend

I spent with my spouse one night at this resort. It was a beautiful stay. Our room, bathroom and halls were super clean, literally I did not find one single stain on the carpet. It is a historical place, the furniture in the rooms is very stylish, the halls are decorated with oil on canvas paintings and flowers. The service is exemplary! The restaurant has a limited menu, but the steaks that we ordered were tasty. Cann't comment on spa services but the pool and sauna are very clean and enjoyable. The place is secluded and quite. Continental breakfast is included, and the resort fee is affordable. You can even bring your pet with you. By all means, we loved our staying at Berry Hill Resort.

Hidden Gem

I have been driving within 20 miles of this place for more than 50 years and never knew it existed. We live in Richmond, VA and wanted to have a weekend rendezvous with friends who live in Winston-Salem. South Boston, VA is halfway so I started checking for hotels in the area and discovered Berry Hill. It seemed perfect and I made reservations, but I must admit that I was managing my expectations. Lo and behold, we found Berry Hill to be a first class resort with beautiful and comfortable accommodations, helpful staff, fascinating history and a variety of amenities. Upon check-in, we discovered our TV was not working. A maintenance man came immediately and we had a new one within 20 minutes. The continental breakfast was average, but the breakfast area was clean, neat and well-stocked. Exploring the grounds was enlightening especially after reading the history of the location. Definitely a spot to recommend to others and on our list for a return visit.

I was one of 4onwomen who attended a 4-day Quilt Retreat at Berry Hill Resort. My first visit. Beautifully restored 1840 Greek Revival Mansion. Comfortable accommodations, excellent food, and lovely, rural location. It is a destination wedding location.
