How to Get There
This place is run by the state and is transitioning into low income housing, but still rents rooms to the public. Booked the room not knowing anything about the place. Myself my mom and my 10 year old daughter checked in and upon our arrival, I had a terrible feeling, the restaurant was shut down because it isnât funded anymore due to state/privately ran. As we were getting in the elevator 3 men came around the corner smoking weed; then getting in the elevator, stunk like weed. They put us the 7th floor which was weird, and I told my mom and daughter stay here, cause when we got off the elevator, the rugs were all pulled and coming up, windows were filthy and huge flies, and this is just in hallway.. As my family stayed in the hallway, I didnât need a key cause door was broke walked in the room; TV was on and it looked like someone was sitting on the bed, and the room was flirty... I walked out and told my family we arenât staying here, we have to get out of here now... my mother went to front desk and my daughter and I went to put the stuff back in the car... drug addicts walking in and out and their pushers all around... As my mother was walking out a man was following her out and it looked like he was ready to do something very baddy to my mother, drive so fast to pick her up, I scared the guy. We went and booked a room down the street to holiday inn which was great...prostitution, drugs and crime... Do not stay here, we called the board of health and they need to be shut down immediately...
The cleanliness of the room is about the worst I have seen. They DO NOT service rooms daily for multinight stays. The service they have is some dirty looking dude comes around with a (supposedly) fresh towel and a tip envelope.....are you kidding me?? Whoever stayed in my room previously must have had a pet in the room that pooped
on the carpet and it was not cleaned properly. Looks like it was picked up and that was it. There was also balls of pet hair moving around the floor. I am disgusted!
I knew this place as a clean, safe Sheraton with an above-average restaurant on premises. Clearly those days are long gone. Arrived (after a 10-hour drive) to find that the front desk had mishandled our reservations; we then waited over an hour for the situation to be dealt with. While this was frustrating, the inconvenience of waiting for the rooms we had booked was nothing compared to the appalling condition in which we found the rooms: lots of roaches (both dead and alive!), a smattering of acrylic nails, an old sock, a condom wrapper, drinking glasses with lipstick marks, lampshades in tatters, and disturbing stains from floor to ceiling. Sat awake (in the least stained chair I could find) and counted down the seconds until I could get back on the road. I cannot overemphasize what a dump the Blue Ridge is.
I checked in, the room was still untouched from the person who had stayed in the room previously. When I went to get another room the door handle was broken. There were no other open rooms (although I was staying in a block of rooms). There was no management on the premises. Unacceptable.
I had read the reviews on this hotel but had to stay here for work. The first thing I see in the lobby is a gigantic roach. The carpet was dirty and the Libby wasn’t well kept. I then went up to my room and wanted to turn around. The room was dusty, the carpet was dirty and there was an odor I am definitely going to write this up through my company.
