Beautiful, good food/coffee, not restful
Reviewed 3 days ago

The hotel is beautiful, the location great, and the staff warm and lovely. All of our experiences with the coffee bar, and hotel staff were wonderful.
However, as much as the bed was very comfortable, the room was loud, and lacked a certain level of comfort you'd expect at the rates they're charging. The sound strip under the door to the connecting room was either missing, or never installed, and you could hear every bit of normal volume conversation, you could even hear their forks on the plates in the morning, and see the movement of their steps in the light under the door. We called the front desk when the neighbors started playing an acoustic guitar, and they resolved it quickly, but even before that, it was bad, and they weren't being particularly loud.
The hallway noise was also loud, it seems the hotel lacks sound-proofing of much kind. Also, only one full-sized bath towel per person, which again, seemed odd.
Again, the staff and food experiences were great, but our stay was not the most restful.

Outstanding service and food!

I stayed at Quirk for a business meeting with my team and the food and service were AMAZING! I travel a lot, but I've never stayed at a hotel quite like this before. The art, and the conference rooms were uniquely gorgeous as well!

Charming hotel is a somewhat hipster neighborhood

I was in Richmond (for the first time) for a good friend's wedding. The Quirk sounded like a fun place to stay so I booked a very reasonably priced room for a couple of nights. The Quirk is located in the middle of an up and coming (or maybe it's already up?) neighborhood filled with great places to eat, art galleries, clothing and record stores and coffee shops. Definitely a hipster area! Checking in was fast and easy, the room was large with a great bathroom, comfy bed and a private terrace I didn't use because it was fairly steamy that weekend. Went to the gallery in the lobby and got some great tips about where to visit in the area. The bus stop is right outside the hotel so easy to get around, although I ended up walking and using Lyft quite a bit. The hotel is also only about 15-20 min from the airport. Had a nice ice coffee as well. Definitely would recommend.

Surely a 10!

Our entire stay! This was one of our most memorable experiences for s stay at a hotel. From the very friendly and warm welcome by staff to the impressive design and decor, I would recommend the Quirk for your next stay in Richmond, Virginia. Well done!!

A very different hotel.

A very unique hotel that wasn't "our kind of place". Some friends picked it out so we stayed there. The service and people were great. It has a restaurant, special coffee service, and a roof top bar.It is hard and stark, very noisy in the rooms and hallways. Difficult sleeping with a noisy refridgerator, noisy A/C, and outside noises. There is a white noise machine if you want it I think the younger crowd likes this hotel.
