How to Get There
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Valet service was prompt and friendly. Lobby was very nice and comfortable but very difficult to find a newspaper. I would stay here again.
My husband and I and our friends decided to met at the Omni for their Wedding Anniversary for a few days to celebrate their special day. Upon checking into our room everything seemed nice but the next two days the room was not attended to which left us with our beds unmade, no towels and dirty. I had to go to the front desk both times to complain about this but the manager wasn't that concerned or shocked. Asked if I wanted someone to come up to our room, which by now was 6:00 pm as we were out all day touring different places. Seriously, at these prices they should be ashamed of themselves. They seemed to put all their energy into entertaining the Redskins football team which were staying at the hotel . I asked to speak to the housekeeping manager, that shocked them actually. He apologized and said he would speak to the employee that was in charge of the 11th floor. Totally unacceptable in my book. We've stayed at the Omni in Atlanta as we're very pleased but this hotel has poor management. We called for help with our luggage the day we checked out but their was no answer at the desk so we took care of our own bags. The seemed overwhelmed at the valet and need more help. Would not recommend this hotel. Pricey and not worth it. I have to say the manager took off $100.00 but the total bill was $1200.00. Not enough in my book. Hope this helps someone else not to be disappointed in this hotel.
I recently had a one night stopover at the Omni while visiting family in Richmond. I must say I was very impressed. Not just about the hotel but also the staff. When I first arrived I was greeted by valet. I believe the charge for valet was $27 versus self parking for $25. I decided on valet because after 6 hours of driving from Charleston, the last thing I wanted to do was drive around for parking. Needless to say the valet was friendly and quick.
This is when I started noticing something different about this hotel versus many I stayed in. I walked inside and was automatically greeted by the bellman. I look up and literally twenty feet or so away was registration. Check in was a breeze. The lady at the desk was very friendly and even set me up with the room I wanted (by the way corner rooms are nice). Once I got to the room I noticed quite a few quiet hours signs up which to me is awesome. A hotel that enforces this rule is hard to come by. As I entered the first thing I noticed was the view of downtown and the river. I'd say I had one of the best views of Richmond. The second thing I noticed after my shower was actual bath towels that were large and covered you. I know this is small but I'm tired of the hotels that give you these small was cloth looking towels. Anyway, from the customer service, to the small things that can make travelers happy...it seems like this hotel gets it. It has a convenient layout and is close to the highway. Next time I'm in Richmond, I'll be back.
