How to Get There
Omni Richmond was a great place for a wedding ceremony and reception. It was perfect accommodations for the wedding party, family and all out-of-town guests. Service was excellent; the location gave us many options for eating downtown within walking distance. Kudos to frontline employees: Cameron, Eddie, Marya. Best service of the bunch and knew what they were doing!
I am now retired, but traveled extensively during my career so I have much experience with hotels. I will have to say that I have never been so well received as we were at the Omni. We had a minor issue with our room and it was instantly rectified - more than rectified. The desk staff could not have been more helpful to two retired ladies in town to tour historical sites. Wonderful three days.
To begin with, they let me check-in early, which was considerate.
They had valet parking.
I had some meetings at the VCU West Hospital nearby and they had a free shuttle to go there (I didn't use it because i like walking but it was there).
The room was comfortable, coffee makers worked.
Only thing I disliked was that you have to join their rewards program to get free internet. Cheap tactics which I would always push back against. I did not buy internet or join the rewards program. Any decent hotel should provide internet access for free.
Beautiful room, but I wish I had a chance to stay in one of the renovated suites. The morning breakfast is a must! The only downside was the dated bathroom and I was told they ran out of sheets, which was very odd. But, it is a great place to stay and an excellent location.
Stayed on 18th floor for 3 nights... Omni Club, as we usually do at Omni Hotels. Happy with the room and the service in general. The Omni Club food on the 19th floor was disappointing, not because of the quality, but because they totally ran out of most of the food without replenishing it at all, well within advertised hours. Also very limited selection compared to what they've offered in the past. No eggs or meat for breakfast at the Omni Club, but don't think they ever claimed there would be. We paid to go elsewhere for meals. Breakfast buffet in lobby for $22.
