On-site amenities & Great Location!

I stayed at this lovely hotel while my sister was in Richmond for business. The free shuttle that will drive you within 5 miles of the hotel was fantastic...I was able to see all the sites. They have an indoor heated pool and a lovely outside deck with comfortable chairs to relax. It was also very handy to have StarBucks, Pitt & Peel & an Arby’s on site as well as other wonderful restaurants and cafes within an easy walk. The staff were always friendly & helpful. The rooms clean and the beds were exceptionally comfortable!

Comfortable stay, nice location

My daughter and I were in town for a wedding. The hotel has a great location, walking distance to many eateries and sights. The free drinks for Omni members was nice, the Starbucks in the lobby was being remodeled so we used the Starbucks stand in the atrium. We used the indoor pool several times, the pool area is quite nice and we had the pool to ourselves. We had breakfast in the restaurant, it was a bit on the pricey side but the food and service were good. One of the elevators had a squeaky door and my daughter complained that it kept her awake at night. The water pressure for the bathroom sink was very low. We used the valet service multiple times and it was fine. The staff at the Omni was very friendly. Overall we had a very good stay.

Average stay, overpriced relative to the value

I stayed one weeknight at the Omni Richmond Hotel, receiving no GHA/Discovery Platinum upgrade during the stay. I stayed in the same room style as booked, despite my enquiry at Reception about the upgrade which I was assured I received.

The hotel property is pleasant enough--co-located with shopping and offices--and features the upscale trappings you'd expect with marble flooring and burnished wood panelling. Reception is quite small an unassuming, as well as difficult to locate. An underground car park is available through valet or with self-park at a reasonable overnight rate.

The room itself--clean, comfortable, quiet, even if a bit dated. I do appreciate the presence of USB ports for charging, but no electrical outlets are located near the bed. I don't normally notice carpets in hotel rooms, but I must credit this property with soft and spongy carpet--a treat for the feet.

My primary disappointment with the stay has to do with breakfast. At check-in, the clerk neglected to share any details about fitness, restaurants, etc. He merely directed me to the board to retrieve my key after an online check-in and bade me a good night whilst returning to a conversation with a colleague. I had to perform my own sleuth work to learn of the breakfast location and hours. When arriving to breakfast at 6:30 a.m. for its opening, I found an empty place with most of the lights outened and faint noises emanating from the kitchens. I went to the front desk to make my enquiry but a single clerk was serving five guests seeking to check out of the hotel, so there was no joy to be had there. I finally located a sympathetic bellhop to accompany into the darker portions of the restaurant, where he found that the breakfast team was "running a bit behind." It eventually was sorted, but not until I'd lost 15 minutes in the process on a busy morn. They certainly can and should do better.
