How to Get There
Estela was very welcoming from our arrival until we left the property. She is a perfect ambassador for the Hotel. She rocks with her above and beyond customer service. This may be a late review but better late than never...as we promised you! We will be back to see you. We love the location as well Luis was very helpful as well.
I recently stayed at the Westin @ Tysons Corner. Having stayed here earlier, i preferred to return as i got a decent rate for the weekend. We were a family and the accommodation was tight but pleasant. We had a smooth checkin and a friendly staff welcoming us. The hotel has clearly seen better days ( and so have i during my past stays with them). There is a tired look and wear on the property.
The shuttle connectivity to the Mall and Metro is a huge plus though you have to wait for a return trip if the transport guys are busy. Mohammad , when he was around, made a great difference in being very friendly and service oriented. When he was off-duty, we had to endure delays.
I did not rent or drive a car into this property. They have quietly ( and without my knowledge) added parking fees for the nights i stayed with them even though i never used the facility. Writing to them to rectify the same has been met with a very stoic silence. I guess this is a new revenue model of collecting money - and i am clearly disappointed to be charged $10 / night for something that i never used. Even more disappointed with their silence on my request to rectify the overcharging.
There is also no channel to send a feedback to upper management on this. I think the new Bonvoy program will take feedback only if they ask for it.
Great room and a very attentive staff. Great bar and elite member benefits in the lobby area. Great location The king room was nicely appointed and very clean. I will definitely stay here again. They even had a nice wine and apps hour for Bonvoy members.
If you are a light sleeper do not stay here. There is little soundproofing and you will hear every door that closes. In fact, I am writing this now during one of those sleep interruptus moments. I'm not sure why my fellow lodgers have the need to go to and from (perhaps to smoke in the stairwell?) but I had trouble falling asleep and I have awoken three times thus far. The room itself is okay -- comfy bed, mostly clean, a partial lack of attention to details, somewhat outdated. However, that doesn't matter if one cannot sleep. I will not return here again.
The hotels has some pros and cons. The price I got for 2 nights was good based on other hotels around. Even though it didn't have a great view(just the highway), the room was clean. It was a mixture of old and new. One thing I wasn't a fan of was the parking fees. You had to pay $10 daily just to park in the hotel parking, which didn't make sense to me because it should be free for people who stay at the hotel. Other than that, I did like how it was a short commute to get to the tysons corner mall and other restaurants.
