Room OK, Parking Not

We’ve stayed here before and found it convenient to both family and the Metro. The staff in general are helpful, beds are comfortable. However, both times we’ve gotten rooms that faced Glebe Road (in fairness we didn’t think to ask for a quieter room); it was impossible to sleep past 5:30 a.m. on that side of the hotel. Also, the parking situation is less than optimal. Everyone has to valet park and there’s always — always — a wait to get your car. So, if you are driving and have to get somewhere at a specific time be sure to leave yourself an extra 10 or 15 minutes just to factor in the valet parking which, by the way, now costs $35 per night. We plan to return to DC next year, however we will be looking for a different hotel.

Great staff, expensive parking, lobby under construction

Great location for Virginia Tech Arlington campus and helpful staff. There was confusion with my valet charges (double billed) when I was checking out but they took care of it quickly so I could be on my way.

*Convenient location, walking distance to bars and restaurants
*Westin amenities (Heavenly Bed, Westin branded shampoo and conditioner)
*Clean room

*Rooms need updating, visible wear and tear showing
*Lobby under construction so less seating, restaurant, etc
*Valet was nice but very confused. Had to repeat things multiple times each time I needed my car
*Parking is expensive

In need of full renovation

I attended a conference here in September for two days. To say this is a busy area, the hotel rooms are outdated. It appears that other areas of the hotel are being renovated/have been renovated (the restaurant is operating out of the lobby, which makes an interesting combination). However, the rooms still have carpet, stained cushions on desk chairs, uncomfortable beds, and bathtub/shower combinations with dirty shower curtains. I was not impressed, and I tend to frequent Marriott properties for business and leisure.
In fact, the state of this hotel made me cancel an impending reservation at a Westin for a business trip that was occurring the following month in a different state. I did not want to risk being as uncomfortable as I was during this stay (the impending business trip was for one week). I remained outside of my room as much as possible except for bathing and sleeping.

Friendly staff, restaurant workers, proximity to the metro to/from DCA.

Negatives: Outdated rooms, not as clean as it could be
