How to Get There
Pompano Beach Club resort is the BEST! Outstanding in every way! Larry & his staff make you feel like so welcomed, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The MAP plan is great with full excellent breakfast, and 5 course dinner that changes ever night. The food was excellent! You feel like you are at home, so relaxing. The grounds are wonderful, ocean front, hot tubs, quiet, nice ocean to swim in or just walk out and enjoy. The rooms are large, with spectacular views. Spotless, very clean. The folks that stay here are also great. We came here for the Bermuda Marathon weekend and we could not have been more pleased! The Rail Trail is right down the street, and the golf is outstanding. If you want peace & quiet in the off season, this is the We will place to stay. Two thumbs up! We will be back!
We rented the Rockfish townhouse. This townhouse was phenomenal. It was clean possibly just renovated with a full kitchen. It had great views from the large balcony and lots of breeze. There was a selection of board games and lots of towels accompanied by turn down mints. Everything worked great as in hot water, Wifi, lights. It was very clean and huge. My family comprises of 5 people, my 1 yr old son had his own bedroom with 2 queen size beds. In short absolutely fantastic! Food was good to great. Staff was friendly.
In Bermuda there are no car rentals unless a twizy is good for you which is a 2 seater car that is very tight. So that being said $70 one from airport with a taxi. The taxi driver we used from the airport was also a certified tour guide that took us around on an island tour for 8 hours. His name is Clinton and he is very knowledgeable about everything Bermudian. His phone is 441 337 3609, he has a mini van.
Everything about the Pompano Beach Club and the Lamb Family is wonderful. We spent Christmas there this year and were pampered beyond belief. The rooms, staff, food, and facilities were top notch. We didn't have to worry about a thing for 8 whole days. They took amazing care of me and my family and we will never go anywhere else when we visit Bermuda.
This was our first time for Christmas as have previously done NYE. It was wonderful - room was good with a nice view - ample space and plenty of hangers and decent drawer space whch makes for a pleasant change. Love the fact that the rooms are carpeted - keeps the noise down and so not cold on bare feet! Love the pastel tones which is what Bermuda is all about. Housekeepting were very good and entered into the spirit of Christmas. Had a lovely surprise Christmas morning hanging on our door was a stocking with some lovely goodies inside. The hotel was beautifully decorated. The food throughout our stay was very good - a buffet on Christmas Eve with excellent selection and again a buffet breakfast on Christmas Day. Lyn is excellent in the dining room. My only regret is that I know you had to move with the times and install WIFI but it would be nice if it wasn't available in the dining rooms - nothing worse than trying to enjoy a nice dinner and someone next to you is constantly on their electronic device. Also like the fact that you do not allow hats in the dinig rooms.
We stayed recently with another couple at this hotel for a golfing weekend. It is very convenient for golf as they provide both discounts and a free shuttle to the adjacent course. We had a modified European plan which included breakfast and dinner - not drinks. The hotel has a small family run feel with nice staff. The rooms are a decent size but a bit dated. For those of you who have been to Bermuda before it has that old Bermuda look - all pastels teal & coral tones. Honestly, if they removed the carpeting and either exposed or put down hard wood or even nice tile it would make a world of difference.
The place really grew on me as our stay continued but truly my only complaint was that our room seemed slightly damp. It improved as our stay went on which leads me to believe that it had to do with our room being closed up. Again, replacing the carpet with tile or wood would also improve this greatly.
I would say 95% of the people who stay here are here to play golf so it attracts an older crowd mostly 50+ - which is guess to a large extent is the crowd in Bermuda. We're in our late 40's and I think we were the youngest people there. Granted it was also November when traveling to Bermuda is fairly light.
The beach/cove and swimming were excellent - because of where the cove is it still was warm - so lovely!
Don't miss out on the dark and stormies at the pool bar - excellent!
