A luxurious five-star hotel and spa in the elegant Austrian capital, right in the heart of the city center

The Lowdown

Historic chic abounds at the five-star Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof, built in the heart of Vienna in 1913. This beautiful hotel stands proudly in the bustling center of the city’s first district, just a few steps from the Hofburg Imperial Palace and within walking distance of a variety of fabulous attractions, shops and restaurants. And having earned a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, this luxe property has a lot more to offer than just its location.
You’ll love the 21st-century interpretations of various interior décor styles, from Baroque to Art Deco, and the inviting spa program at the wellness center will settle you into total peace and relaxation. Work out in the gym, or go for a scenic jog in the pretty Hofburg gardens, just a few minutes away. And when you’re hungry, Restaurant Herrlich’s exquisite cuisine and Café Herrenhof’s delectable coffee and Viennese pastries are sure to hit the spot.

Rooms

Designed by Viennese atelier Einwaller, the interiors of this luxe property offer 21st-century interpretations of various styles, from Baroque to Art Deco. Each 375-square-foot Deluxe room features a king-sized bed or two separate beds, a work desk and a bathroom with a tub or shower.

Dining

Restaurant Herrlich offers sophisticated Austrian and Viennese specialties in ambient and relaxed surroundings. For something different, we recommend the four-course goose menu. Meanwhile, at Café Herrenhof, you can nibble away on Viennese pastries with coffee by day, or sip cocktails to the soothing sound of live piano music by night.

Spa

The hotel’s sleek wellness center, Spa World Comfort, is an impressive space, spanning two floors and covering 2,960 square feet. You’ll find a steam room, a sauna and a soothing relaxation zone, as well as a complete menu of massage and beauty treatments.

Stayed here for a long weekend. Everything was flawless from check-in to check-out. Great breakfast buffet. Comfortable rooms, great night's sleep. Special thanks to Anna who helped me complete my check-out the night before as I had a 5 am departure. I look forward to staying here again.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a lovely place to stay in the heart of old Inner Stadt Vienna. The hotel is a block and a half from the Hofburg Palace (and Spanish Riding School) and is surrounded by a multitude of good restaurants and inviting shops. We were able to walk from the hotel to nearly all the museums (e.g., Hofburg Imperial Treasury, Belvedere, Natural History Museum, Kunsthistoriches Museum, Albertina, etc) and several lovely churches (Augustinerkirche aand Michaelarkirche are very close by). The staff are friendly; they were very helpful and fluent in English which I appreciated since my German is nonexistent. The accommodations are very comfortable. There are also several amenities such as a gym, sauna, bar and restaurant. You will not be disappointed!

Hotel is of a great location, close to Graben Street. It's clean and nice. Just a slight issue, when we request for a vaccum cleaner, (we need to for our travel vaccum packs) the hotel stuffs were reluctant and when we explained why we need it, they say they need to send someone to 'supervise' us. This is the first time we encounter this as all the time BNB or other hotel stuffs are mor than willing to lend us the vaccum cleaner without any other questions!

Very Poor Experience

I've to say that the hotel room doesn't really smell very nice. But it isn't a big deal.
The main problem was the car service. I left the car in the garage at the check in and asked it back in the morning after check out. After 15 min waiting outside, I came back to the reception and realised the car key was still stored in the drawer, nobody went to pick up my car. The people at the reception pretended nothing happened and claimed they were busy. I had to rush to the airport!!
