Lindner Hotel Am Belvedere hotel cuts a sleek, shiny figure, which contrasts sharply with the baroque splendor of its namesake, the famous Belvedere Palace nearby. It’s a good option if you want to stretch your legs and explore some of Vienna’s great city parks, and, staying a little outside the city center, you can look forward to a peaceful night’s sleep in your sophisticated and understated room – a lovely combo that snagged this chic four-star a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
The smart Heuriger Am Belvedere restaurant offers traditional Austrian dishes, as well as an extensive list of local wines – after all, Vienna is one of the few European cities to have its own vineyards. After dinner, stop by the smart, contemporary Canaletto bar for an elegant cocktail or two. Elsewhere, the hotel features an inviting wellness area complete with a sauna, a steam room and a fitness center, plus a rest area with great views of the castle.
With white walls, dark wood furniture and flexible lighting options, the spacious First Class rooms are elegant and inviting. You’ll enjoy one king or two twin-sized beds, as well as 322 square feet to stretch out in.
The breakfast buffet is extensive, including delicious Viennese coffee and tempting pastries. Expect traditional Austrian fare and seasonal dishes at the Heuriger (wine tavern) restaurant.
Lindner Hotel Am Belvedere overlooks the striking Belvedere Palace, with its manicured gardens and impressive museum, where you’ll find Klimt’s famous painting “The Kiss.” The location is convenient for reaching both the city center and the airport, thanks to the the nearby tram stop.
How to Get There
Booked a weekend away to visit the Christmas markets via Expedia. Chose Lindner based on reviews. Also price for room seemed very competitive for place close to the centre.
After I had booked I received emails directly from the hotel confirming reservation, special offers and opportunities to upgrade if possible plus information on the area. This gave confidence all was in order.
Decided to take train from airport looked at the CAT €24 per person nonstop to centre - chose the standard train €4.60 for two. Got off at Rennweg stop and a 5min walk to hotel.
On arrival we were made very welcome - we were early but a room was available so could check in strait away. Business room had everything needed, very clean, tea coffee making in the room, nice large powerful shower, tv, mini bar (complementary if you kept towels and no room servicing).
Nice selection of bar-food and local beer.
(Situated next door to Belvedere where one of the smaller Christmas markets was situated.
We walked to centre took 15 mins to opera house. Could have taken tram 71.)
We had breakfast a buffet style help yourself - good selection of cold meats, cheeses breads, smoked salmon typical crispy bacon, fresh fruit .... perhaps limited cooked selection but that didn’t detract from the overall selection. Couldn’t find breakfast tea but didn’t ask and coffee was very nice.
Cost of breakfast perhaps a little high €24 per person if you only wanted a few items - but we I made the most of it.
Over all very nice stay, even though it was busy with meetings and events there was no noise at night. We found beds very comfy and room temperature was very well regulated.
Location was ideal - away from centre bustle but close enough to walk or you could take very convenient public transport. (Looked like had a large private car park if you were driving).
We found all the staff welcoming and efficient.
We will return to do more things in Vienna and will definitely stay at the Lindner.
Absolutely terrible service - worst hotel in vienna. Upon arrival the staff could not find the confirmed reservation and did not even to bother to fix it or find an alternative. Will never book this again
Stayed for three nights at the Lindner Am Belvedere over a weekend. The hotel is situated next door to the Belvedere Palace. In order to get to the hotel from the airport this was easy, took the City Airport Train into Wien Mitte. From here headed on the O tram line to Rennweg. From here it is a 5 minute walk to the hotel along Rennweg. Once here we had two Buisness Class King Size rooms. The rooms were a decent size. They had a layout which mean that the toilet and shower cubicle had a door but the rest of the room was open plan. Normal teas and coffees provided and shower gel.
At the hotel there is a Fitness centre which is well equipped for a hotel of this size. It has a steam room and sauna.
There is a nice bar and access to an American Pool table (€10 deposit at reception). We did not have breakfast at the hotel however there were two restaurant areas visible which looked nice and they were just by reception.
Staff are bilingual and very helpful. Also to note if you do not have your room made for 2+ days then you can have the contents of the minibar for free. Yellow door hanger needs to be used to enable this and cannot be used on day of departure.
In order to get into the centre of Vienna, you can take a 71 tram from 2 minutes down the room at Unteres Belvedere and this takes you into Karlsplatz when you can change if required to the U-Bahn services.
All in all enjoyed our stay and would return.
I stayed here as part of a group attending a football match in the city. The hotel is well located and convenient for the city’s main attractions and the rooms themselves are more than comfortable, particularly for the price. The staff were very welcoming and the hotel bar was the perfect place to relax before and after exploring the city. The only complaint I could raise is that for the duration of my stay, there was what appeared to be a pair of man’s underpants on the glass ceiling of the dining area. I felt this was very unbecoming of a nice hotel in a major city, especially when people are eating in the space below. I have pictures of the pants but can’t get it to load just now.
This is really a lovely place to stay with spacious well appointed comfortable rooms and excellent food and wine... Breakfast was really well done as well with plenty of choices to suit all palates...Conveniently located close to the city
