How to Get There
All you need without a fuss, also a very nice view from the top. A very good breakfast. The location is not central, you need about 20min walk to the centre but there is the tram if you prefer. Staff is nice and welcoming
Having only read reviews after having booked to stay here for three nights, I was a bit concerned having read recent posts.
I need not have been concerned :)
Breakfast was varied and plentiful.
The room was not cold. It was well insulated with windows that could be opened to provide draft if required. Although the hotel advertises itself has having air con—-I think this is a misnomer.
The room was clean and tidy. Request for additional pillows was met promptly.
One downside—-the hotel provides a smoking room in the bar area. You do not want to be seated near there if you want to breathe in clean, unadulterated air.
According to my opinion, this hotel is over-rated. It is a moderate place. The interior is a bit boring, neither charming , nor ’extra’. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, but too warm. Breakfast is also standard, nothing really extra, but nothing to complain about either. The fresh bread was really jummy though. Situated about 3 km from the city Centre, so a bit Walking is nedred.
Hotel reminds me of a college dorm. Hotel and rooms need much repair. Broken light switches. Torn curtains. The hotel does not a any dinner service. Location is not that great. Not many attractions or restaurants around this dump/
This hotel has a lot of pluses, but they were unfortunately outweighed by a big negative: The room was exceptionally hot and airless.
Now I realise that rooms in Europe are built for the cold but days were around 25 degrees Celsius during our stay. Warm, not hot. The room could not cope. There was no air conditioning- they said it was broken when we asked. There was no advice about when it may be fixed, so I doubted their word about that. They advised us to open the window - this made no difference as it only opened a fraction and didn’t let in any air - and turn on the fan (a cheap and noisy upright) which we did. Waking up sweaty and tired is not fun.
Apart from the heat issue, the room was compact, clean, quite and efficiently serviced. Location was perfect, with many restaurants close by and good transport options. Reception staff were pleasant and helped with enquiries. Breakfast was available at 13 Euros and was quite extensive. The hotel seems to be popular with large tour groups.
