Vienna has no delusions of grandeur. Its hundreds of museums, monuments and libraries drip with preserved Baroque finery and a long history of artistic, scientific and musical luminaries wait, ready to impress. But behind the grand facades, the city is also experiencing a youthful renaissance. The city’s cult-like dedication to coffee and art runs like a lifeline between old and new as vibrant street art and day-to-night cafes pop up here there and everywhere. Grab a bike from Arthotel ANA Katharina and explore the boulevards and backstreets of this stunning city from your stylish hotel in Vienna’s ninth district, a traditional neighborhood where wine bars and cafes abound.
Classic and modern decor meet in the details of Arthotel ANA Katharina and 54 individually styled rooms come heavy with Viennese splendor and whimsy. Rich purples and golds nod to the city’s traditional past while mod-cons and playful artwork bringing the ambience up to date, placed among grown-up greys and hardwood floors. You’ll find a 24-hour shop on-site as well as Dallmayr coffee on tap, handy when you come to plan your day over a cup on the terrace or in the tranquil courtyard. Located opposite the Spittelau train station, you’ll be able to gawp at the vast 18th-century Schönbrunn Palace or dart around the MuseumsQuartier in minutes.
How to Get There
Stayed here on a college group tour. Stayed 2 nights. Several times as we tried to find it, we asked passer-bys (locals), and no one knew anything about it. Thank goodness for Google and GPS. It was OK, but the rooms never seemed 'comfortable'; needed comfortable chairs, more pillows, better temperature control, but it was just OK.
Hotel is quite far from city center. Small hotel near Vienna University,at a silent place.
Check in was with a little bit misunderstanding, but never mind. Room was very basic, without any cupboard. Bed was average. Cleanliness was at a satisfactory level. During one night started sewer cleaning - it took for a one hour. Another day was some construction in or near to the hotel. So it was dreamless night. Breakfast was average, but satisfactory. For drivers - parking is under the hotel, but small road to the parking is very narrow. Nothing for holiday drivers . :-)
Well to be honest, the place was nicely decorated , had all the basic comforts that a traveller may need and most importantly its clean! But! For example I asked for an extra pillow which they said they dont have any extra. I mean ok u got a hotel and u cant have some extra pillows that many could ask for? Also the staff's behaviour was not what I excpected except of course the guy from the restaurant with the beard and that arm tattoo. All the rest seems like they dont care or something which made me feel uncomfortable. A little improvement on that and would be so much more nice for someone to visit you again :) overall it was nice experience and thank you :)
We stayed four nights. As we arrived after 11pm the reception was closed so we had to call the number(there is a tel number u need to dial and they will provide you with an entry code and instructions ). The person who spoke was friendly and very professional. Next morning we did a fast check in. The reception staff is great. Friendly and helpful. The breakfast is complimentary. Not bad - i am a vegan and i still found something to eat. They should change the sweetcorn more often - twice it was spoiled There is a coffee machine in the breakfast room - guests can use it for free up to 10 or 11 pm (not sure). With the rooms not happy at all. The bathtub drain was clog so there was plenty of standing water in the bathtub while taking shower. I found couple of black hairs on the towels. The main light bulb was burnt out so we could use only the bed lights. The rooms are cleaned on reg basis.
Overall we are still happy - great location close to restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets and public transport.
Let Down By Poor Maintenance.

I am not bitter, or vindictive, but surprised at other reviewers positive reports.
• Accessible guests lounge, with excellent coffee machine.
• D tram line stops outside.
• Room very tired, (See photos).
• Too hot, radiator valve does not work.
• Trams are noisy.
• Both Bed lights, (There are no centre lights), not working despite daily reminders to reception.
• No electrical socket to desk.
• No wardrobe.
• No tea/coffee in room. (Says illegal, but other hotels do have Nespresso?).
• Open light switch in corridor.
