How to Get There
All Grand Hyatt Hotel Service are tops all over the world but not for this Front Desk Service of Grand Hyatt Melbourne Hotel! Left hotel 9.30am and when we returned 2pm the hotel Room was not cleaned! Walked to Front Desk where two staff, Trent and Robin were on duty to complain and asked for the room to be made asap as we sit at the Lobby to wait. The reaction of these two men showed no sign of any apologies to hear our complain but took the complaint as ‘matter of fact’! When my wife commented to them that she was disappointed that this ‘Grand Hyatt’ was worst off than ‘Hyatt Regency’ they were expressionless again without any sign of regret or try to apologise! Later at the Front Desk, David who was on duty when we went back to complain was very good and apologetic and we appreciate his sincere attention and recovery effort. Kate Byrne (Duty Manager) and James Tan (Guest Relations) were also very good. It’s a pity that our stay was spoiled by these two unfriendly uncaring attitude Front Desk staff!
I decided to stay here when I found that the accommodation price was competitive with the place I usually stay and it has the advantage of a loyalty program and I was pleased with the experience. Check in was warm, efficient and friendly, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the bed wonderful to sleep in. The bathroom amenities was useful and the shower excellent. A bonus that I always look for in hotels is that the iron was a good steam iron so I could iron my clothes properly!
The check in staff forgot to text us when our room was ready. The room smelt of cigarettes, so we had to request a different room. That room’s curtains were falling down. The hotel seems to be starting to get a bit run down.
