How to Get There
The Grand Hyatt is truly grand. The building itself is imposing. Foyers are spacious and offer plenty of seated nooks for meeting or working. One cosy sitting area even boasted a fire place. Staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. Food from the restaurant was excellent. And you could not want for a better location. It was close to everywhere we wanted to visit.....the river precinct, Chinatown, theatres, restaurants and all manner of retail outlets.
Our room was ultra clean and cosy...just perfect and with all the amenities we have come to expect... a large, comfortable bed, beautiful marble bathroom with a deep bath, large screen TV which can be angled towards the lounge or bed and tea and coffee making facilities. What capped it off for us was largest of picture windows overlooking the surrounding buildings. (No need to pull the curtains for privacy as the window is reflective glass.) At night the city lights were a stand out attraction.
We shall certainly come back to the Grand for future trips to Melbourne.
This hotel certainly has very beautiful foyers and rooms. The only problem is the rooms are very noisy. When I was first given a room in the lower floors and I was woken up 5am in the morning by the noise from other rooms. I could hear other people talk, the showers going and the toilet flushing. The management kindly gave me another room in the upper floors the next day. This time I could hear the noise from the bathrooms near by. Its definitely not 5 stars.
This was my 5th visit to this fantastic hotel. Location is just about the best in Melbourne being close to everything - theaters, sports venues, businesses, restaurants and shops. The hotel is an oasis in the city and I have always, and will always recommend this superb property.........
Stayed at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne for a conference. Excellent location, close to shops. Had a great stay. The room was very clean and the staff very helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent. It was a little noisy overnight.
I stayed here with my daughter over a long weekend and we loved our stay. The room was super comfortable and well appointed. The bed was soft and inviting. The bathroom has lots of storage and space including a double sink. But what is the noticeable difference to other competitive offerings in Melbourne, is quite simply the top shelf service. The staff at the Hyatt go beyond expectation from the men that greet you at the taxi, to the bell boys to the check in staff - all were beyond measure. Additionally the hyatt is in a great position in melbourne central - we managed to walk pretty much everywhere. I am a regular visitor to melbourne and I feel content that the Grand Hyatt is now my go to.
