Set on a corner block in the heart of downtown Victoria–just two blocks from bustling Inner Harbour–this streamlined 64-room stay offers the intimacy of a boutique inn with the amenities of a luxury business hotel. Rooms are tastefully decorated in a muted color scheme of silver, grey, and charcoal, and every bathroom features marble surfaces galore and a deep soaking tub. After a day spent exploring the city, return to the Magnolia Spa for a hot stone or scalp and neck massage, before heading to Catalano Restaurant & Cicchetti Bar for Mediterranean-inspired small plates and rustic main dishes.
In the Area
Put on your walking shoes and head out to explore cosmopolitan Victoria. First stop: the country’s oldest Chinatown, situated in a few blocks around Store and Government streets. Stroll it on your own or join a tour like Old Chinatown to find out more about this living museum, which includes novelties like Fan Tan Alley, the city’s narrowest street. Browse a wide range of teas at Silk Road Tea Store, which also stocks natural beauty products, then stock up on Asian treasures at Chintz & Company, which carries everything from exotic textiles to delicate ceramics. Recharge at Foo Food on flavor-filled noodle and curry dishes inspired by Asian street stalls.
How to Get There
Amazing hotel with friendly staff who are professional and egar to help, would highly recommend. Very close to all down town attractions, and has a mouth wateringly good restaurant that worth a look both morning and night.
This is a nice hotel which is clean and comfortable. You can walk to everything in Downtown Victoria. I have been coming to this hotel since 2014 and it seems to be getting pricier. My corporate rate makes this an exceptional value for me. However without the corporate you might might want to explore other options and compare value.
The bar in the hotel has a very good bartender and the cocktails are exceptional. My sister and husband are world travellers and they were very impressed.
This was our second trip to Victoria staying at Magnolia. We love the comfort of the rooms, people at the front desk are warm and helpful and the location is fantastic. My only negative is that the room service hamburger came practically raw and was positively revolting. When I called to let the kitchen know they told me since they grind the meat themselves they serve their burgers medium rare. (see photo) They sent up another one but it was so over cooked (beyond well done) it was hard to eat. Neither burger was acceptable but we were still charged for it. I worked as a food server for many years. This hamburger - both of them - should have been comped. I would not order food from this hotel again.
We have stayed befor and make this our hotel for a retreat from work and parenting in Victoria. Our plans were interupted but they were very accommodating. We will stay here again as it is our first choice in downtown Victoria.
Like the tea and coffee service in the lobby.
Convenient location to downtown shops and malls.
Can easily get to BC legislature building.
The decor is modern.
Room is spacious.
Bed is comfortable.
Wall a bit thin though.
