Great location, good value
Reviewed 3 days ago

Great location in downtown Victoria. Easily walkable to restaurants and shops. On the harbor with great views of the Parliament buildings and Empress. The holiday lights from our windows and balcony were lovely. Good service. We had to ask for help with luggage and valet, but once we asked, service was very good.

Ideally situated hotel

Situated overlooking the inner harbour and minutes from the centre of Victoria this is a great choice. I had a suite overlooking the inner harbour where you could watch the seaplanes take off and land. The ferries to Seattle, Vancouver and Washington State also leave from the harbour. You have use of the pool and spa facilities at the hotel. Breakfast was great and if you don't mind eating early there is A 3 course earlybird dinner for around £18 which was excellent. Room nicely furnished, staff really helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.

Great location but disappointing Fondue offering and housekeeping service
Reviewed 7 days ago

O1. No doubt about the location, its just excellent overlooking the harbor and nearby the usual tourist attraction.

Was excited to try your supposedly, “popular” 3-course Pacific Fondue but, was disappointed with the quality and the whole experience.

First course was the cheese fondue with the usual accompaniment....the accompaniment arrived ahead and we waited and waited for the Cheese.

Next was the broth .....this is called basically, Hot Pot in Asia. However, the heating element is insufficient if you expect to cook the main course items especially in a broth. The waitress gave specific advice on cooking times, eg. 90 seconds, but the low source of heat (warming element for a chafing dish) is incapable of cooking at all. This would mean consumption of uncooked seafood and beef, creating a health hazard.

Chocolate fondue was ok.

Saving grace, we were not charged for the part of the broth but, disappointing experience nevertheless.

02. Took housekeeping to clean our room late inspite of two verbal requests and signal for make up room request was turned on. Advice was given in the morning, went back to room at 2pm and still not made up. Finally, made up when we arrived late in the afternoon at 5pm.

Hardest Bed EVER
Reviewed 1 week ago

We just came back from a quick trip to Victoria. The Hotel Grand Pacific was a great hotel with the perfect location. The room was very nice but the bed was the hardest, most uncomfortable bed I have EVER slept on. I honestly thought I was sleeping on plywood or particle board with a 1 inch foam topper. I would have rated the hotel higher but for the bed.
