How to Get There
This is our first visit to Victoria and our stay at the Delta. The deluxe waterfront room was spacious, the view was very nice. Hotel is modern, quite and clean. The hotel is about 10 -15 minutes walk from the main harbour and Leglisative buildings. It has a lovely waterfront walkway around the harbour. The spa was always booked or they didnt answer so gave up trying to book an appointment. The pool area was great, the coffee shop is great, it opens early around 0600 but as a result unfortunately closes early too - 1pm which is a shame. Had nice meals at the Keg and Finns. Craigdarroch castle is great, takes about 35 minutes to walk it, I would catch the bus. Enjoyed BC Museum and Leglisative bldg. Clipper Ferry was a great trip to Seattle and float plane ride back to Victoria on Kenmore Air. Both great trips. Would stay at the Delta again.
I went to university in Victoria so I knew the location being just across the bridge would serve us well, and there is even a complimentary shuttle to and from downtown. The staff was amazing, room was delightful... we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend away.
Thank you to everyone who made our weekend.
The location is great--the view and waterfront location is beautiful, and you can walk or take the water taxi anywhere you'd need to go. Also the hotel provides a shuttle that we took advantage of on our way to/from the Clipper dock. Staff was always professional and courteous. Bar and breakfast were fine-- no complaints, but there are so many amazing places to eat and drink in Victoria, you should really get out. Really appreciated touches like lots of coat hooks, umbrellas in the room, and a very spacious bathroom with lots of storage and counter space. Would be hard to justify taking a risk on staying anywhere else.
My wife and I decided to visit Victoria and needed to choose between the Delta and Marriott Inner Harbour. Both had their pros and cons but we were very happy with our decision to stay here. The location and views were wonderful. The hotel itself is nice and rooms updated, although ours like so many others these days, was lacking in drawer space and we had to realign some of the closet storage. The front desk staff did their best to get us in early, so special thanks to Michelle.
We had access to the lounge and it had the normal choices for breakfast, snacks and light dinner fare. The staff there though, was amazing and very attentive. I believe her name was Morgan, but she went above and beyond for us on several occasions and that was very appreciated.
It is a very easy walk across the specialized pedestrian bridge to downtown Victoria, and if the weather is not permitting, they have a free 24 hour shuttle (we did not use). Water taxis also available from the hotel's own dock. The advantage to not being downtown directly was two fold - 1. Much less traffic noise and great views looking across the harbour at downtown, & 2. if you are going to explore west and north of Victoria, it is much easier to get on the road from the Delta vs. downtown. We enjoyed several journeys away from Victoria, including Butchgart Gardens and Malahat. Again, so much easier to get on the road from the Delta. Parking garage is easy in and out, don't bother with valet.
Enjoyed our stay very much and would come here again.
We stayed on this property three times in less than a year. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. The last visit we upgraded to the concierge level, which made our stay more enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and we love the view of the water with a lot of activity with ferries and kayaks. There is a beautiful indoor pool, jacuzzi and large gym. The hotel is on a lovely trail that leads around the inlet and into town. We really like that the hotel is literally a 10 minute walk to downtown Victoria. The restaurant food is always good and there is even a Starbucks in the lobby. Looking forward to our next stay.
