What We Love

  • Spectacular setting at the tip of a hilly promontory
  • Incredible panoramic views of the Berici hills
  • Sense of going back in time in the sleepy hilltop village of Arcugnano
  • The tranquility of a country retreat coupled with proximity to UNESCO World Heritage town Vicenza
  • Free WiFi
  • Free buffet breakfast

What To Know

  • The pool is large but inside, with a retractable roof; and the decor is unintentionally retro
  • It’s an easy 10-minute drive into central Vicenza, but public transport is scarce
  • The beautiful Berici hills have long been popular with cyclists, but you’ll need to be fit to tackle them
  • Vicenza has been very built up since Palladio’s time – now, the villa’s view includes the industrial outskirts of town
  • Ensure you book your stay to coincide with opening hours at Palladio’s spectacular Villa La Rotonda

Absolute luxury

We booked this Hotel through Luxury Escapes. We didn’t know what to expect but we’re very pleasantly pleased.
We upgraded to a larger room which was a good decision. We stayed for 7 nights. It is a bit far from Vicenza itself and a taxi cost €20 each way. Very accessible by train to Venice and Verona.

A relaxing place to stay in the gorgeous Veneto region

We spent 7 nights at villa Michelangelo. The hotel is a sprawling villa set in the hills of Vicenza. Our room was fairly large,in the front of the hotel. We enjoyed a good dinner the night we arrived with a lovely white asparagus risotto. Breakfast was nice each morning and I particularly appreciated the fresh pineapple and fabulous croissants of various types. Parking on the grounds is complimentary which was great as we hired a car. I would recommend hiring a car so you can explore the region easily, other people, staying there had to wait for, buses and trains which limited them. Issues were that the rooms were a little old, wifi did not work well in the rooms. There was one extremely friendly and helpful reception staff, Matteo, the others were a little cold. The waitresses and waiters at breakfast were friendly and welcoming .

The magnificent setting for this grand villa with sumptuous interiors certainly creates awe upon arrival. The sleeping solutions go from presidential suite to classic double, which was our selection. Our room was prettily furnished and had all we needed, including a gorgeous view over the park and the distant hills, except it was really tiny. The communal areas are elegant and comfortable - reception area, breakfast room, lounge bar, swimming pool - and the personnel exceedingly polite. Overall , the clientele is suave and distinguished, mostly northern European. A very suitable place to retire for the moneyed classes.

Beautiful Location!

I had the pleasure of attending a formal ball at this gorgeous hotel situated atop a hill - breathtaking views of the area and an absolutely beautiful hotel! The dinner was delicious, the service tremendous - and the facilities immaculate! I would definitely stay at this lovely property - and would be pleased to return!

I would highly recommend this property and will definatley visit again . Very Modern Hotel in a very quiet and peaceful area. Private Parking is available , wifi too . All the hotel & room were very clean. Restaurant was available for dinner and looks very stylish and modern too . (however we had already agreed to roam around the town for dinner) the breakfast room was fully equipped with variety of foods. Our room was over looking the pool area with the view of etna on the side and open views . Room was very clean spacious with ac and heaters.
