How to Get There
The best thing about the hotel is the location, on the Grand Canal itself, next to the San Angelo waterbus stop and half way between Rialto and St Mark's. However, apart from this, our standard room was large and well furnished, as was the bathroom, and service was friendly and efficient, with a welcoming bottle of wine, chocolates on the bed each night and complimentary bottles of water daily. A nice touch was the card and bottle of Prosecco which appeared, without any prompting, on my wife's birthday. If I was looking for niggles, I'd mention that the breakfast selection could have been a little better (e.g. more than 2 fruit juices, some salad with the meat & cheese...) and a shelf in the bathroom would have been useful. However these are minor quibbles and overall our experience was excellent and we would have no hesitation in staying here again. For eating out at a reasonable price, we'd recommend Le Cafe in the nearby Campo Santo Stefano.
Very nice and helpful staff, great location just near the vaporetto/alilaguna stop... Beautiful room... real venetian style! Just in the grand canal... just a walk to Rialto or St Marcus Square! I would stay there again...
The ambience, location and standard of the rooms merits almost a 5. What was very impressive was how in contrast to other hotels where they are reducing in quantity and quality the toiletries, chocolates and little extras this hotel gives you the whole lot and re-stocks generously. Location is excellent if you want to be tucked away a bit but still have the convenience of water-bus stop on your door step. Breakfast was good but we did not try room service or drink in their bar. Would definitely consider staying here again on any return trip.
We booked the executive suite which was enormous and had balcony views over the grand canal. The management had laid out prosecco and fruit platter in our room which war a nice touch - thank you. The hotel had very attentive and welcoming staff. The hotel benefits from its own pier and the porter would come out and collect your luggage from the water taxi for you. Another great touch. The breakfast room is a little on the small side and can get crowded - the breakfast choice is OK but a little limited for a 4 star hotel so there is room for improvement here.
Great location on the Grand Canal and within easy walking distance of St Mark's Square and all the sights of central Venice. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend it.
