How to Get There
We stayed here for 4 nights, loved the location, the room was fairly small but fine for the 3 of us, bathroom was modern, coffee making facilities and a fridge in the room, staff were pleasant, and the air conditioner was great. There is a vaporetto stop right out front making travel really easy, its very close to Piazzo San Marco, we had a room facing the water so had fantastic views, and walked everywhere. The water Taxis, or Vaporetto, are worth getting the hang of, we used an app called Moovit, it really helped, and downloaded Venice in google maps so we could use it offline. You do need to have patience, the Venetians appear to despise the tourist and can be quite rude.
We stayed at Hotel Paganelli for 1 night in May. We were in the annex building which was absolutely fine. We had not needed a room with views as we were hardly there so the room was good value. Check in was quick and easy. Hotel was right on the front near the San Zaccaria boat stop and in an excellent location. Would recommend!
Very nice hotel near San Marcos, staff was very welcoming, very close to water shuttle stops, our room (301) had a view of both the water and the courtyard. The breakfast was typical but good and plentiful. We had dinner in the restaurant as well, it was good.
Pay for a interview room, you won't regret it. Water taxi station right in front. Close to Bridge of Sighs. Gondola out front. St. Mark's nearby. Breakfast in second building around the corner. Close to all the tours.
My wife and I stayed in Hotel Pagenelli for three nights and loved it. The hotel and decor feels classic Venetian. The staff are really helpful and know everything about Venice and are really approachable. Our room was on the ground floor of the hotel and although quite small, it had everything we needed and was very clean. Breakfast is perfect- nice cold meats/cheeses cereal fruits and a steady supply of good coffee. Best thing is the location of the hotel - a stone's throw from the bridge of sighs and St marks.square. There's a vaparetto stop right outside the hotel at San Zaccariah. Would recommend taking a glass of wine to the rooftop terrace and taking in the amazing views of the lagoon. Loved Venice and Hotel Pagenelli and hope to return soon.
