How to Get There
We loved our stay at Hotel Giorgione. Perfect location, close to a romantic Piazza. Beautifully decorated with lovely Murano chandeliers and elegant furnishings. The breakfasts were amazing with delicious local Tortes and Pastries prepared by the chef.
Warm and welcoming, the kingsize bed was on a mezzanine, looking over the courtyard and the pool. Virginia and Christina at reception were incredible- helpful, knowledgeable and great with kids.
Excellent hotel, from it's appearance it is a former palazzo, and nicely appointed. It is modern where it is needed (lift, bathrooms) yet quaint where it showed to best effect, (the public rooms). Our room was split level and nicely appointed. The hotel is in Cannaregio, which is a student area of town, so the bars and restaurants are not too expensive. One downside is that the hotel does not have its own restaurant, although the breakfast provided was excellent. This did not prove to be a great hardship since there must be ten excellent eating places within 200 yards. We will be back!
If you’re looking for a nice hotel with a staff that will treat you with respect don’t come here! :) The staff here are all so pretentious, it’s mind boggling. They also collect your key every time you try and leave the hotel which means you’re at the mercy of hoping there is somebody at the front desk. The rooms are so inconsistent, you’ll either get a nice sizable room or a room the size of a closet. The staff really isn’t happy to help you with anything either, if you ask for anything (i.e toilet paper, an extra towel, etc.) they will make you feel like you’re an inconvenience. Trust me, spend your money elsewhere.
We stayed in this hotel in March for 4 nights , . We had a Junior Suite which comprised a sitting room downstairs with bathroom and a large double bed on a mezzanine level . It was quite cold outside but the room was warm and the bed very comfortable . The bath was smallish , but plenty of hot water . Shower was above the bath . We found the staff very helpful , and the breakfasts were good with lots of choice . The hotel was quiet at night , but there are bars , restaurants and shops nearby . The Waterbus stop at Fontemente Nova is about 10 minutes walk and there is a direct water bus to the Airport from there . Cost €15 each way . Would definitely return .
Highly recommended. Beautiful hotel in good location. Really stylish and opulent. We stayed in a junior suite which had two levels and was very nice.
There are restaurants and shops literally on the doorstep.
Easy to walk to the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge.
