How to Get There
This hotel is a converted mill, hence its name, situated on the Guidecca Canal away from the centre of Venice. I adore Venice and having spent a day wandering around it’s nice to be away from the hubbub. The canal side rooms have a view of the main part of the city so you can look at it and remember where you are, as opposed to being in the middle and being anywhere. There is a shuttle boat, for a nominal one off payment which takes you to San Marco within 20mins of departure or at certain times of the day you can get off a Zaterre. Yes this hotel can be a bit pricey, but Venice isn’t cheap, rooms are clean and well appointed, rooftop bar is modern and elegant. When in this part of the world we return here trip after trip, says it all really.
We spent two nights and enjoyed the views and hospitality. The transportation to St. Marks Square was reliable and on time. We were able to see all of the main sights but have the privacy of a secluded retreat away from the crowds upon returning to the hotel in the evening. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The service and assistance in guiding us to our scheduled tours and events was excellent.
We absolutely loved our stay here in June 2019. I was a bit skeptical getting out to Giudecca from the train station but it was simple, a #2 water taxi straight to the island and a short walk to the hotel. The staff was gracious and we were in a water view king room, #116 in building B. The corridors are a little weird to navigate but they are beautiful with the former steel beams from the factory in plain sight. Our room was beautiful and the wood beams on the ceiling were gorgeous. One thing I didn't like about the room was the shower situation, with it being inside the tub. The setup could have been a bit better. This room comes with the quality you would expect from a Hilton property. We ate dinner on premise the first night, sitting out on the patio by the water. Others have recommended to bring bug spray and I would agree. We had a breezy evening but when the air was still, mosquitoes were present. The food was wonderful and service was amazing. Breakfast each morning in the executive lounge was sufficient and while there were way more choices in the restaurant, I still preferred the quieter atmosphere in the lounge. The Hilton ferry service to the main sections of Venice was so easy to use and it was so nice to be able to escape the crowds of the main island to come back to Giudecca at night. I definitely recommend it. We strolled around Giudecca and there are so many cute things to see and I recommend lunch at La Palanca. We had a challenge with a private tour company and the concierge was very willing to make a call for me and help to explain the situation in Italian, something i appreciated very much. Additionally, when we checked out, we were speaking with the agent about our plans in Rome and he recommended a restaurant that was the highlight of our Rome visit (Hosteria Romana). This was a wonderful stay and I would definitely recommend.
What a fantastic hotel this is. The staff are excellent, special mention for Marco on reception and Natasha at breakfast. The hotel is in a great location and the shuttle service is frequent and only costs 8.50€ for your entire stay. Breakfast is extensive and delicious. When going to Venice this is the place to stay. Thank you!
In terms of organisation, convenience, staff and facilities the Hilton Molino Stucky was a brilliant discovery and as an Hotel in Venice, I cannot recommend it highly enough
I asked Google to find me a Hotel in Venice with a swimming pool. I phoned the Hilton in Stucky that evening and spoke to a charming Italian who took me through the cost of the room. I then asked him if he could help with transportation from Venice Airport. Not only could he help but I was given a number of options. I chose the basic meet and greet launch service which collected us from the Airport, took us by taxi to the pier and then by private launch across the waters directly to the Hilton. It was a brilliant service, costing little more than our taxi from Home to Heathrow. What a fantastic way to start our holiday.
We had a fabulous room overlooking the waters and Venice which was less than 15 minute on the Hotel’s shuttle boat ride. Every member of staff spoke perfect English and went out of their way to be as helpful as possible.
Carlos the Concierge phoned our room to ask if we were interested in going on a Canal tour of Venice. He told me that at no extra cost he could arrange a special water taxi that would accommodate my mobility scooter to tour the Grand Canal and a few other places. It was a sensational experience to drive directly onto the roof of the launch which then lowered.me to enjoy the sights sitting next to the driver
There was so much to choose from the self-service buffet breakfasts which was excellent with additional service always available to make anything in the way of anything cooked. This was a very large hotel with plenty of comfortable lounge and courtyard areas
The real highlight for me was the swimming pool up on the roof. A lift goes to the 8th floor and then there are a few steps to the fresh water pool. The pool itself and the surrounding area is immaculate, beautifully maintained and is well supervised again with very helpful staff. There is also a bar. High up at the pool level you can see Venice in one direction and the Cruise ships on the other
The Hotel has 2 Restaurants next to each other on the riverside – Aromi which is very expensive and Bacaromi which is not quite as expensive. We ate at Bacaromi. Let me just say that I chose badly from a small menu.
After that experience we made the good decision to eat in Venice where there are so many very good restaurants in from which to choose.
Overall the Stucky Hilton is superb. We loved being there and the staff made us feel that they loved us being there.
