Beautiful building, fantastic location, being renovated
Reviewed 1 week ago

The building is really from another time and a high class, but it has aged and is undergoing renovations.
Still it looks fantastic and the service was very good. The dinning rooms looked amazing and the breakfast was really nice.
The room was outdated and needs renovation, but the bathroom was brand new, simple but very nice.
The premises are really nice even when they were partly occupied with the renovation.
We requested a change of room for one that the windows will not be under the scaffolding and the staff quickly gave us a free upgrade.
The location in Lido is excellent in the Main Street, 200mts away from the vaporetto or 200mts away from the public beach. Surrounded by restaurants.
I would say it was still worth it despite the renovations. Once it’s finished it will be probably magnificent again.

Breathtaking!

First off, I didn't stay or eat here, so I can't attest to the quality of the rooms, food or service. However, this truly grand hotel is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen -- definitely worth a look. Strolling down the Gran Viale S. M. Elisabetta, I was stunned to see on my right what might have been an apparition from the Gilded Age, the Grande Albergo Ausonia e Hungaria. With its façade totally covered in polychrome majolica tiles, with grand romantic figures displayed against a celadon background, the façade made going inside for a look irresistible. The lobby and bar were, well, intimate in scale, but the main dining room could have accommodated 200 or more. The chandeliers were confections of clear Murano glass. Judging from the menu prices (the three-course special cost 37 euros), the rooms were probably pricey, but my little tour of the public areas was free.

Very pretty older hotel with some renovation going on. Rooms are smaller with wooden floors.

The whole area around the hotel is great for people watching and large number of eating places.

Would recommend this for an out of the way place to stay in Venice.

Words can’t describe how good

When arriving to the hotel we had such a warm greeting from the reception staff. They could not do more to help us with how to get around Venice.
The outside of the building is incredible, the interior of the building matches the outside.
I have been to many hotels all over the world and this one will always stand out n mind as one of the most memorable, not just from the decor but the staff they really can’t do enough for you with a smile ear to ear.
I would highly recommend the hotels restaurant as it’s by far the best on the strip....... (besides Fabios for pizza).
If you are thinking of booking this hotel then I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.
