How to Get There
This was a surprise trip for my wife’s birthday with some friends. We flew into Geneva and had a simple transfer followed by a quick and speedy checkin at the hotel. It was extremely nice to get a room upgrade to a suite which was a great start to the holiday. The rooms are beautiful, modern and contemporary but they still make you feel like you are in a ski resort with warm wooden fittings. Being a short break we wanted a quick turnaround to get changed into our ski gear, get our hire gear and be on the slopes ASAP. The on-site ski hire did just that. It wasn’t open when we arrived, but it wasn’t a problem. Reception called Massimo and he was there in 15 minutes to get us ski ready. The on-site lockers are really handy with the locker room opening onto the on-site parking where the shuttle was waiting to take us. It is literally a 5 minute drive the to Dolonne bubble lift, which was quicker than some ski-in ski out resorts. After a days skiing we would find ourselves in the spa, relaxing in the pool, steam room and sauna - a great way to wind down.
In the evening we would go to the bar before heading out for dinner. Omar and Luca produced some amazing cocktails including one they made up on the spot which included my favourite ingredients. I think we agreed to call it a Luma in the end.
The breakfast buffet gives you everything you need before heading out onto the slopes.
I will definitely be coming back to this hotel and courmayeur. An absolute treasure.
This is the kind of hotel of fairytales. Stunningly beautiful, contemporary but still warm and welcoming. Stylish with outstanding local charm.
This hotel has everything... A good location, an amazing bar with a very nice and professional Barman (Omar), large comfortable rooms, a spa, a ski hire shop and a private shuttle to the lifts.
The room (suite) which includes a separate dressing room is very well organized and the spacious bathroom is amazing with a big circular bathtub.
The spa is wonderful, there are multiple shower experiences and an indoor pool with a button triggered waterfall. A spacious outdoor deck is located by the pool with numerous loungers for sunning oneself.
The breakfast was excellent with everything you need.
Definitely 5* service
Don’t be deceived by the photos. This is a hotel designed to be instagrammed, but it is soulless and certainly not a Five Star Hotel. Had it not been for the extremely helpful staff who tried really hard to provide great service and sort out the problems, I would have rated it only two stars.
The main problem is the rooms. The walls are extremely thin and noise travels so easily. I could hear the TV and the conversations of the people in the rooms either side. The floors are hardwood and therefore you hear every footstep from the room above. Clearly this is a design fault, and the management did their best to solve the problem but if you are there when it is busy or with lots of noisy families, it could be a nightmare.
I would also say that breakfast is very ordinary in terms of choice of food - few cereals and fresh fruit and things like eggs, omelettes etc are an extra charge.
The spa is good, but they don’t seem to bother keeping it tidy so it looks a complete mess with towels strewn all around and the bin piled high with plastic cups.
There are better hotels in Courmayeur and it is very expensive for what it is. The staff however are excellent and extremely helpful.
We received an upgrade. The room is beautifully decorated with a balcony and stunning views on the mountains. The service is amazing, there is a free shuttle at your disposal, it can take you to anywhere in Courmayeur. We used it to get to the Skyway (must see), and called the hotel when we finished and they sent the shuttle to us (arrived in 5 minutes) and he took us to the center. Then again picked us up back to the hotel! AMAZING SERVICE.
The food is also very good, we tried dinner (very good) and the american bar (we had a snack). Also, breakfast is good with nice views. All staff are attentive and friendly.
Spa area is nice as well. We used the indoor pool and sauna.
In the beginning of the summer season we visited this great hotel. It is a very nice modern 5 star hotel, but still in the local mountain style. We had a junior suite, this is an amazing room. The dressing room is great and spacious. Bathroom is very luxureous with a big bath. The manager was very friendly and service oriented. Restaurant has a great view at the mont blanc. We really enjoyed our stay and i would recommend it to everyone who wants a great experience in the mountains.
