How to Get There
Munich was the final stop on our recent two months travelling around Europe. While it was only for two nights, we were pleased with our choice to stay at Vi Vadi Bayer 89.
The hotel is very centrally located in Munich, less than half a kilometre from the Munich Hbf. The main attractions of Munich such as Marienplatz and the viktualmarkt are about a KM away, or can be accessed via the U Bahn from hbf.
We arrived fairly late on a Saturday night and were checked in promptly and efficiently be a very friendly guy, who unfortunately we didn't see again for the duration of our stay. Everyone else we encountered was very nice as well though.
The room itself is a decent size and seemed very new and was nice and modern (as was the rest of the hotel). We slept soundly. The bathroom and shower are a nice size too.
The room contains a large TV and a well stocked mini-bar. There is also room service available, but we did not partake. There is also excellent free wifi throughout the hotel.
Our room this time didn't include breakfast, but we purchased it one morning for 14 euros each. There is a good selection and the quality was good too. As is usually the case in Europe, the cold option was better quality than the hot.
The cost of our stay, including the breakfast was 244 euros for the two nights. Which I thought was good value for mid-June.
Overall, we were very happy having Vi Vadi Bayer 89 as our European swan song and was certainly seek it out if we find ourselves in Munich again.
Stayed here for long weekend. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Had breakfast one morning (€14) and was very varied and good quality. Location very good close to main station. Would definitely stay there again if in munich.
This is a 3 star property. Basic , but nicely designed. Waking distance from central station. Free internet. The single room has everything you need and a nice sized single bed which is more comfortable than the two singles pushed together in the double rooms. I chose not to move :) service is friendly but not really professional. I think I prefer friendly , but if I was on business that might be difften. Good quality linen and towels. Very clean. Quite good black out drapes, air conditioning and powerful shower. Safe and fridge in room. Coffee is cheaper than Starbucks and better tasting. Some noise from street so choose upper rooms
Centrally located about 5 to 10 minutes walk eastwards to Hauptbanhof station, and 5 to 10 minutes walk southwards to the SpringFest grounds (same grounds as Oktoberfest). The tram line 19 stops right in front of the hotel. Receptionist was friendly. Room was clean and brightly lit, with 2 twin beds, a desk, TV, clothes cupboard, fridge. But no free bottled water or coffee/tea. The F&B on the ground floor was kind enough to let us have 2 mugs and teaspoons, while the receptionist let us loan an electric kettle, so that we could make tea in our room with the teabags we brought with us on the trip. Hotel security is good, as the lift to the rooms is behind the reception counter, only guests can get access.
This hotel is very close to the main train station, and a 5 to 10 minute walk to Haufbrau House (if that kind of thing matters to you)! The location is very good and the hotel is very nice and very clean. The rooms are not very big. But if you are like us, we are only in our room to get dressed and sleep, so big rooms do not matter to us. They just have to be clean, and they definitely are.
They have a full bar downstairs, along with a breakfast service in the morning. We did not take advantage of the breakfast, but we did imbibe at the full service bar. Once again, the bartender was very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The lighting in bathroom was sufficient and the water pressure was decent. It could have been better, but I'm a pretty tough judge on bathrooms, so for 99% of the people, I'm sure this bathroom would be fine for you (my husband calls me the bathroom nazi). Anyway, this hotel was great overall, and I would totally recommend staying here.
