How to Get There
It is just few minutes walk from Central Railway Station (München Hbf). The room I stayed was really ok in all senses: desk, bed, bathroom... Hotel is clean, nice, with good amenities. I would definitely repeat.
Our family arrived in Munich New Years. We were enjoying a drink at the hotel bar when just before midnight the staff encouraged everyone outside to watch the fireworks. It was one of the most fun New Years Eve our family has had sharing it with the staff and their families.
We dined in the restaurant the following night enjoying the lovely Italian cuisine on offer.
Each night we’d grab a drink at the bar and a chat with the staff.
The hotel was well situated, just a short walk from the train station and Main Street.
Our family of adults really enjoyed our 5 day stay.
Our party was booked into 4 rooms (1 single, 2 x twin and 1 x triple) in mid December for a couple of days.
The location of the hotel was OK, with small children it was a fair walk to the center of town, and half that distance to the nearest train station, it would be manageable for most able people. We did however discover that the suburban tram stops pretty much directly outside the hotel and could easily transport you very close to Marian Platz (line 18 or 19 I can't exactly recall). There were a few small grocers and restaurants nearby and it was a short walk (400m) to the Oktoberfest grounds.
Outside of the rooms, there was no real other amenity to the hotel other than the Restaurant which was very busy during lunch and dinner by non-guests (i.e. it has a good reputation). The lift was rather small, but it never really presented a problem.
The rooms were fairly modern, functional and clean. My main criticism here is that there were either no or we weren't given access to inter connecting rooms (I ended up in a room with my young sons, and my wife with our young daughter). My parents and sister were in the other rooms on the same level which was useful.
The staff were excellent, friendly and engaging. When I think of my visit, it is their great service that comes to mind first.
Dropped a point in rating due to having to split up my family as a result of the design or allocation of rooms (no interconnecting doors).
We came here for a family trip after a terrible trip home from Thailand and were so happy to have been able to check in early and have a shower after 50+ hours on the plane/road/airport etc.! The staff is very accomodating and friendly, we were very grateful for that.
The room was small but very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable (esp. after such a trip). The bathroom was also small but still clean and it had a nice shower.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet a lot - it offered everything you need and the eggs are super good! Also the bar and the staff at the bar were very friendly and funny :-)
The bus stop is very close so it's easy to reach the city centre. Would return!
N.B. we stayed here in December 2017, but Tripadvisor doesnt allow me to set the date back further than Feb18.
I booked this hotel to be close to the city centre and public transport links which it is perfect for. It was very reasonably priced, clean and new. I spoke to the hotel when I was in the UK and they were really helpful and I used the room service upon arrival which was delicious and very quick!
I read a review before I arrived where someone had commented on the elevator being small. I can confirm it is a normal sized elevator which has ample room, plus there is a very good staircase located to the right of the elevator should it be in use or of course if you have a heavy suitcase you can simply wait for the elevator to be empty in the lobby area. I'm not sure what people expect...the Great Glass elevator like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? :)
