A good hotel

I am staying all week for business and training - the check in was great they were super friendly and good at English, which helps when unfortunately I don’t speak more German.

My room is spacious and modern and it is comfortable. The bed is good and there is a kitchen with microwave. The bathroom is also modern.

I was in the gym this morning and it has machines and free weights. The breakfast was good with lots of bacon :)

I can recommend this hotel and the location is perfect.

This hotel is very well situated as it is just a 5 minute walk to the train station where it's easy to just hop on a train for another 5 minutes to the city centre. We opted for this hotel as we read the positive reviews on here and it was also cheaper than staying in a hotel closer to the centre. The service at this hotel was brilliant. The woman on the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful when it came to planning our days. She noted down what train/tram stops we needed to get to visit particular sights and also recommended other places for us to visit. The room was great, it featured a massive sofa bed which about the size of a queen sized bed! Breakfast was good with a choice of pastries, hot food and fruit. The hotel also offered "thank you" drinks for it's guests for staying at the hotel, and this included a range of complimentary alcoholic drinks along with cakes and other snacks. The staff made the effort to speak to each guest about where they are from and what they had planned in Munich. This was a nice touch, so we were very happy with our stay here.

Upgrade-Lack thereof

As a platinum Marriott member, I asked for an upgrade prior to and upon arrival at the hotel. My contact was not responded to. Upon arrival, I was told that we were given an "upgrade" on the 5th floor. This was untrue. This was the standard room which we had occupied on numerous visits to this hotel. The clerk was less than helpful, and I did not appreciate her deceptive behavior. Each time we visit, this floor reeks with the smell of ?? kimchi?? which permeates the floor and our room. Initially, we thought that perhaps there were permanent residents who lived on this floor. I contacted the front desk and was told that they would investigate. Nothing was done, and we received no response. Marriott services are typically top-notch, but management responsiveness at this hotel is sorely lacking.
