Lacking something
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Property lacks something. The rooms are big clean functional but sound proofing is poor with noise coming from the road and tram outside making for a poor night. Place lacks a vibe. Wouldnt want to stay more than a few nights

Great comfortable hotel in a super location
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I stayed here while on business for a convention. Convenient to the train to get to the convention center or anywhere in the city. Nice selection for breakfast. Everyone was attentive and friendly. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Will consider staying here again on my next trip to Munich.

Excellent all around

Very welcoming and helpful staff, both at check-in, bar, and cleaning.
Wonderful room - comfortable, roomy, everything we needed.
Very short walk from Ostbahnhof (though the snow didn't help).
Nice neighborhood - beautiful historic homes.
Best breakfast we had in this Europe trip - extensive choice and well cooked.

Many people have posted that its close to the Ostbahnhof so you can come right from the airport with ease. Don't bother with the taxi. There are escalators and elevators on the train platform.

The hotel is safe and accommodating. Excellent service at the front desk and the breakfast buffet is huge with lots of variety.

I liked that I could open the window if it got too warm in the room. Also the little kitchenette is great! Even a dishwasher. I didn't really cook there but heated up some doggy bag meals. I know you don't always need it but so many hotels have refrigerators that are filled with servey bar items and you can't use it for your drinks or food you may buy. This place is perfect! It's my third time staying there and I hope to come back again next year.

Only 3 stops to Marienplatz which right now is a huge Christmas Market filled with goodies.

High floors are better for less street noise or get the room facing the courtyard.

Second visit - still recommend
Reviewed 2 months ago

Second time to stay here for five nights. Just a bit of an update. The tram in front of the hotel to go into town is now the 21 Westfriedhof, return 21 St Veit. The desk clerk said due to construction there had been some modifications. Still recommend this hotel. I sleep well and the shower has plenty of hot water. It's nice and insulated so not too much street noise, but the rooms facing the back are much better. Street view is not pretty of the tracks. The only hiccup this time was that Sunday and Monday of our stay, the loaf bread was stale at the breakfast (the kind you slice yourself). I found this very unusual as the place was very busy. So there would be no reason for old bread. Also, there was no holiday or any reason to inhibit getting fresh bread. So I am hoping it is just a speed bump and not a downhill slide.
