How to Get There
The rooms are nicely decorated, and spacious. The sofa is a sofa-bed if you’re traveling with kids. Closet space is more than what I need, and there are plenty of electric outlets near the bed (no USB though). If you’re not German, don’t forget the power adapter!
Though it’s equipped with a small kitchenette, the breakfast spread each morning is fantastic. The dinner menu at the bistro in the evenings is somewhat more limited, but gets refreshed often and usually has good options. Plenty of big tv’s playing sports nearby and lots of tables if you don’t want to be at the bar. And the hotel has its own parking and is located close to the main autobahns.
The staff is attentive, responsive and always do what it takes to make everything right. I’ve enjoyed rooms with either core to the streets or to the rear courtyard area.
I highly recommend this for both business travel and for families with kids.
If your looking for business hotel reasonably priced for Munich the Residents inn Munich East May be your answer. Co located with the courtyard Marriott the hotel is small but has all the amenities as all Marriot properties. Professional and polite staff and English spoken here. Breakfast is included and was good. Small Fittness center but includes Steam Room and Sauna. It’s 60 euros Uber from airport of 80 euros by taxi about 35 min. Metro line is close by. Average rate in August $259 euros.
He stayed in the hotel for 2 nights in August. We reserved 2 rooms next to each other and we got rooms with connecting door (we didn't ask). The location is ok. The hotel not in the city center but there is tram and subway station near the hotel. The rooms are big (not like in the hotels of Residence inn in America). There is kitchen in the room. There is good breakfast in the hotel for no extra charge. There is laundry room and parking (very expensive).
My family (2 adults, 2 children) had a very nice stay at this Residence Inn in June. We stayed in a corner suite with a sofa bed and king bed. The room also had a kitchenette. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable. The kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare simple meals, which can be a nice break from always eating in restaurants with kids. There was a Nespresso maker and the staff replenished the pods each day. Housekeeping staff always was very courteous and inquired if there was anything else we needed, etc.
The breakfast offering was very generous and of good quality. We enjoyed the variety and thought the coffee and warm pastries in particular were very good. There is also a nice selection of meats (cold and warm), yogurts, fruits, cereals, eggs, pancakes or waffles, etc. The only downside was that the breakfast room can be quite crowded during peak times, but the staff stays on top of clearing tables when people finish.
I also used the laundry facilities with no issue. You purchase tokens at the desk and if I remember correctly, it was 4 euro each to wash and dry. You can also purchase laundry detergent if you don't have any.
The front desk staff was also pleasant. One evening there was a reception with finger foods and drinks that was free to guests.
The location was good for us. The bus stop on the street in front is served by a few convenient bus routes. Also, the train station is about a 10 minute walk away that is simple and easy enough for my 5 YO and 8 YO to make numerous times without complaint. There is also a neighborhood park about a block away that my kids really enjoyed. (Grünanlage Haidenaupark Spicherenstraße 4)
Overall a very nice stay and we will return when we go back to Munich.
Great facilities, really good rooms, very friendly and helpful front desk staff, especially Hendrik. However, it was quite a way out of town and the quickest way in was by the underground, which was a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Trams run right outside the hotel but we couldn't find out how to catch them! Even though this was a very nice hotel, we wouldn't stay here again. We only had two nights and we spent way too long getting to and from the hotel.
