Overview

A stylish stay at a five-star Kempinski hotel in central Munich, including a discount at the chic spa

The Lowdown

One
of central Munich’s most historic hotels, the five-star Hotel Vier
Jahreszeiten Kempinsk offers luxury hospitality on chic
Maximilianstrasse. Recommended by Condé Nast Traveller and TripAdvisor (which awarded the hotel a coveted Certificate of Excellence), this prestigious address is just minutes away from some of the city’s most fashionable boulevards.
Inside,
there’s an air of international comfort, from the grand lobby bar to the European-style restaurant to the immaculate guest rooms. One of the hotel’s finest attributes is its elegant spa, an exclusive spot where you can relax in the deck-level pool, sauna,
solarium and individual treatment rooms (the go-to for organic herbal
therapies).

Rooms

Superior rooms overlook the inner courtyard and hold a
comfortable 258 square feet. Boasting floor-to-ceiling
windows, they benefit from plenty of natural light and a warm, autumnal
color scheme.

Dining

The hotel’s restaurant serves a modern European menu
in a sophisticated dining room, facing the designer boutiques of
Maximilianstrasse. The Jahreszeiten Lobby, which has the atmosphere of a
luxurious parlor, and Bar are both elegant and cozy drinking spots.

Spa

Hotel
Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski’s spa is one of Munich’s most exclusive day
spas. A light-filled, contemporary space with chic white loungers and a
deck-level pool, it’s the ultimate city sanctuary. Retreat to the
sauna, solarium and treatment rooms for a little TLC.

Location

Surrounded
by top-flight boutiques on one of central Munich’s most upscale boulevards, the hotel could hardly boast a better address. The underground and
S-bahn trains of Marienplatz are nearby, and within walking distance,
you’ll find some of the city’s most prominent galleries, museums, bars and beer halls. Take a short
journey outside of the main stamping grounds, and head to Nymphenburg
Castle to explore one of the country’s most stunning palaces.

Excellent stay at the kempinski munich. Perfect location, most of Munich’s sites accessible by foot. Standard of service great, as you would expect from a 5 star, but it has a personal touch that made you feel genuinely welcome. Great bar and cocktails to start the night. Nice gym and a larger than expected pool on the top floor. Great tea and cakes in the lobby we will definitely have the afternoon tea next time. Very comfortable rooms and I really like the decor. Good value for a 5 star. The only constructive criticism is that breakfast was €40 a head. We didn’t have it. Highly recommended for a weekend away or business trip.

Avoid a room overlooking Maximilianstrasse

We recently enjoyed a two night stay at Kempinski. Upon check in we were informed that we were upgraded to a room (same category) but we would be overlooking the grand street the hotel is located on. We were on the first floor so perhaps if we were on a higher floor it would not be an issue. However, the tram that runs along the main road at all hours of the night is loud! Since it was a short stay, I did not want to change the room after the first night, but would of definitely considered this if we were there longer. The hotel itself is quite lovely and staff is friendly and very helpful. Concierge helped us book train tickets and offered great suggestions for dinners. We did have quite a few mini bar charges added onto our account upon check out that we did not have. Mistakes are made, so please review your bill prior to leaving. I would stay again at this hotel, just not a room on the main street if we visit Munich again.
