Our new preferred hotel in Munich

We have stayed in numerous hotels in Munich over the years, ranging from budget/business accommodations near the train station and Aldstadt to nicer hotels in Schwabing -- but this hotel will certainly be our home in Munich from now on. We loved the location in the quieter Bogenhausen neighborhood, but with good transport links via Tram 17 (just around the corner on Ismaningerst) and the U4 accessible via the Prinzregentenplatz U-Bahn stop just a 6-7 minute walk away. These options can get you to Haidhausen in just a few minutes, or into the city center in 15-20 minutes. We were in town partially to visit Fruhlingsfest at the Theresienweise, which is also located on the U-4 line, which makes this hotel a great options for Oktoberfest/Fruhlingfest.

We flew into Munich Airport early in the morning and arrived that the hotel during peak check-out time around 9:30 am. Markus greeted us and was able to secure us a room within a few minutes despite the official check in time being in the afternoon. He kindly carried our bags up to the room and explained the different amenities on offer by the hotel. Our room was a bit small, but was in immaculate condition both upon our arrival and made immaculate again each evening thanks to the turndown service.

While at the hotel, we made use of the wellness area and bicycle rentals, both provided for free to guests. The wellness area has a steambath, sauna, and large shower area that was really relaxing. This area is turned on each afternoon, but we requested to use it in the mornings and the staff did their best to accommodate our requests (they were unsuccessful one day of our stay). We used the bicycles on two occasions, easily accessing the Englischer Garten within about 15 minutes and more far flung locations within an hour. The bikes are efficient and comfortable city bikes with self-locking mechanisms, so we felt secure leaving them outside many of Munich's biergartens.

We also took advantage of the hotel minibar, which is refilled each morning with two soft drinks, two waters, two beers, and two juices. We did not partake in the breakfast given the steep price for each person, instead opting to visit some of the neighborhood bakeries and cafes. We did visit the hotel bar and found an excellent beer -- Chiemsee -- on tap and a friendly bartender ready to serve it.

Overall, we were very pleased with the condition of this hotel, its friendly staff, excellent location, and unique amenity package. We cannot wait for our next visit!

A wonderful experience in all areas !

My family of 5 were in Munich as a celebration trip for my son's 40th birthday! The Winter Garden was a particularly pleasant space for gathering in the evening after a long day of touring. The rooms were very nice, clean, quiet, and elegant. The bar had that "Old World " feel of an elegant gentleman's library. We did not eat breakfast there as it was entirely too expensive and the option of bed/breakfast was also unreasonable. There was a very upscale bakery/cofffee space 1/2 block away though. We did however eat dinner in the bar and the garden and were very pleased with the food quality and selection. Highly recommend this hotel!!

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. Staff are very helpful with public transportation guide and recommendation of our day trip to Salzburg. House wine and snacks are nice. The staff generously let me use the conference room for my conference call as my work laptop had poor wifi connection (but my partner’s worked)
I’d recommend rooms with garden view and balcony.
Hotel is in a great location if you enjoy staying in a nice and quiet neighbourhood rather than touristy area. Easy access to park, 2 Underground stops, restaurants and cafes and only 40min away from airport.
