How to Get There
Really enjoyed our stay in BOLD hotel and would highly recommend it to any traveler! The hotel room is modern, tidy and small. Good for those don't mind a bit walk to travel. This hotel is a bit far away from City center. It locates in a quiet area take around 10-mins walk to the closer Metro station.
The staff here were consistently friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The room was adequate but very dark and overlooked some kind of commercial vehicle yard. At the front of the hotel is a large building site (as at April 2019).
Food was basic but reasonable.
This is obviously a budget hotel and is fine if you are eating or socialising elsewhere - locally the options are extremely limited.
Budget hotel but nice designed, wide rooms, everything clean and comfortable.
Breakfast simply but enough.
Far from the city center but just 10€ of taxi to get there,
Reception desk turns out a bar during the weekend’s nights so you have a nice drink there along other residents.
We had a kitchenette and happy we went for this option and cooked 2 meals a day and prepped lunch due to us being veggies and we like having happy tummies. There's also a balcony (for our particular room) and so we had our meals outside. So this is a good perk if you think you can actually be bothered to do so or don't like eating out. We headed back to eat and then get ready for the evening.
The hotel is quirky and is a short walk from the metro and Aldi supermarket. You can rent bikes from here too. Lovely staff too.
The only negative this we found is they ask you if you'd like a voucher with terms along the lines of 'You can choose to not have house keeping and return have €5 to spend at the bar' I think is a joke really when you've payed around €300 for a few nights and they offering to save their staff a job of cleaning your room in return for A BEER, no thanks I'll have what I've payed for.
I stayed with familiy for 2 nights there (29.12-31.12). We booked two double rooms. Check-in was quick. Underground garage had low ceiling - just 1,8m which was not OK for our van (1,9m). So we had to look for outside parking that was an issue that time. Receptioninst kindly explained where parking is allowed and possible and how to read German parking restriction signs (that have small arrows on typical international signs). As there was no place nearby I had to park around 500m away from the hotel. For the second night there were parking places nearby though.
Rooms and bathroom have new furniture and utilities but are designed in very simplistic way. I hardly can call it 3 star interior. It is more 2 star. there is no safe, no normal table (just a kind of wide windowsill). Linen, sheets, blankets are very clean. Although pillows are quite hard and blankets are small and heavy. Floor surface is made of laminate but not carpeting. There were rolls of dust under the bed.
WiFi worked pretty fast, no complaints about it.
Breakfast is paid on-top for quite reasonable price ( around 10 euro). Quite decent variety of food is offered. All food is fresh and tasty. Coffee is good.
Bar works 24h/7days.
Lifts are too long to wait (maybe too many people those days).
Vending machine downstairs does not accept credit cards - only notes and coins.
