How to Get There
Great hotel with a great location on the beach. Several separate restaurants . Japanese restaurant ok but not grear. Mexican restaurant was good . Buffet restaurant was very good with many many choices. Only concern there was a lack of disinfectant and many sticky serving spoons. Room are pretty standard with typical hard Mexican beds. WiFi has improved significantly and is available everywhere except the beach. Many TV stations but only 2 with English -Fox News and fake news CNN. . Big improvement would be Fox business and a movie channel.
We have just returned from our third visit to Riu Palace Pacifico.
The reason for the doubts, surely for the third time of going we would be bored, how wrong we was. This hotel seems to get better every time we go and once again we had a brilliant time.
i'm not going to go over what has already been said in other posts, all i can say is you need to check out the place to appreciate how good the hotel is. A big thank you to Janet on the morning and Lucy on the evening, both ladies couldn't do enough to look after us. I also have to say a big thanks to Andres this guy is the best, if the management do read these posts then my advice would be to keep him at the outside bar. The guy is a natural at what he does and keeps all the guests entertained at the same time, so why spoil the combination by moving him round the hotel.
I really cant recommend the Palace Pacifico enough, and i can guarantee you will meet new friends whilst you're there. See you again in 2019!!

Beautiful hotel and amazing staff. Just a few let downs. No separate area for children!!! Went for a relaxing holiday to be surrounded by screaming children🤬.
I really feel that The Riu Palace part of the chain should be adult only.
The life guards are always picking on people.
Food would be amazing if everything was not covered in salt. There are salt and pepper pots on the table it should be the guests choice.
I would have given a higher score.
What a wonderful stay we have just experienced at the Riu Palace Pacifico. Travelled as a couple. Met at the airport and a private taxi transfer took us straight to the hotel. Check-in was easy with a mimosa on arrival. Room spotless with plenty of towels. View of the sunset while unpacking. Staff throughout with the exception of one grumpy waiter on the outside buffet, were some of the friendliest and engaging I've ever had the pleasure of meeting (special thanks to Gaby on reception, Alicia and Janet at breakfast, David and Roberto in The restaurant Brenda for looki g after my room and finally Gezer and Fransisco in the pool bar). Food was exceptional and drinks all branded. So looking forward to visiting in 2019.
The location is absolutely lovely. We loved incredibly long walks down the beach in both directions surrounded by a backdrop of layers of green mountains. We even walked to Bucerias one day and street level walking path home. We also enjoyed the variety of wave action at the beach. With a mixuture of body surfers and calm water enthusiasts in our group, the surf provided days for each type. Did I mention the water was absolutely warm?
The staff work hard at keeping the grounds and building spotless. The décor is something a Disney princess would dream of - fitting of the name.
The hotel is accustomed to catering to the older crowd. Some families were there to enjoy, also. We found the entertainment better than other Mexican resorts we have visited.
The buffet and restaurants were great. It is unfortunate we lost over 24 hours due to food poisoning. Avoid the scallop caviche appetizer in the steak house! My husband and I were the only ones in our group to eat it... yup, the only ones to suffer.. horribly.
The only other downer was the toilet in the bathroom which was not fixed during our stay. It ran 24-7.
