How to Get There
Very nice clean Resort with excellent friendly staff & good food and drinks, mostly mature crowd some with children, loved the Beach drink service & entertainment. I found the resort somewhat classy with there Jazz &Violin performances in the evening. No rowdy people and I believe last call at the Bar was 1am. Would definitely return to this Resort & recommend it to others.
Fernando, Garcia and rest of pool side staff are awesome! Very on the ball and funny to joke with, never had to wait for drinks, lobby staff was great to, all in all it’s been a good stay and we would recommend it to anyone, thanks occidental for the stay
We were there 20 years ago and returned Feb 9 Sat 2019 for 10 nights--Sat afternoon was a lot of walking at airport after immigration going to customs
We particularly like the smallness of the resort and don't care about no balconies
Food is very good in Buffet and Mexican Restaurant next door-which doubles as the buffet every afternoon (buffet closed). We only went to The Mex spec restaurant pne evening-8pm
Several free loungers on beach even at 11am---tall palm trees--not crowded-wider beach than downtown or other side of Malecon downtown-Bathrooms on either side of the beach area
Housekeeping slow, --Often times our room wasn't cleaned at even 4pm
The housekeeping issue is more than made up by other positive features-We would return
Lobby Bar on 1-2 floor was very good
Taxis take about a minute to come once bellboy calls one----We went to Malecon one morning (250 pesos Both ways) and took a cab to airport the last day when we left (
Front desk changes Cdn and US for pesos around 1pm everyday
First time to Pacific side of Mexico, nice resort and great staff. Felt safe and no pressure for timeshares. Ocean was not a feature to use like the Caribbean side. Good food and entertainment. Had more fun going to live markets and going into Puerto Vallarta for food and shopping... Nuevo is definitely the sleepy side although lots of construction going on around the area so probably going to get much busier...
I was actually pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The room was clean and the view of the ocean was awesome. My only complaint on the room would be the lack of storage but we made it work. The beach was fantastic - could walk for hours. The food was very good. The entertainment was just enough for us - not too much and not too little! Kids' club was fantastic. Loved the pool side drink service!
