We had a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom accommodations with kitchen, dining and living room. Needless to say there was plenty of room for the two of us. Everything was kept very clean, from our accommodations to the grounds and beach area. The staff were personable and attentive. The food was wonderful, the staff friendly. Cannot say enough about the Marival Residence experience. We had a young man named Isarel take care of us at the beach and he was exceptional. My husband and I fell in love with the "Green Drink" and had one or two each day we were there. Hopefully we'll be back again next year.
This was our families second time back in 8 months. We upgraded to a demi pool room , and the kids loved every minute. This hotel is so upscale and quite. Every restaurant is steps ahead of anything in the area.Armando at Mozza Marre is outstanding. Gustavo at the beach club became a friend, the service level is unbeatable. Finally if you ever need a reason to go to this piece of paradise , Carlos the concierge is the best in the game. See you next year !
Spacious, clean, well-appointed rooms ("residences") and facilities throughout. Beach area is a very worthwhile 5 minute walk and everything else is right together. Perfect for relaxing vacation, leaning toward chill -- the "party" vibe is definitely over at the Marival Hotel sister property instead. Attentive and kind staff is the true draw, and the Marival doesn't disappoint.
The food selection and integrity was where it fell short for us, but we are hard to please. We are vegan and care a lot about food, and the Marival concierge told us every restaurant would be able to make vegan food, but this didn't hold true; one or two simply told us they had nothing. Of the remaining, all served some food the waiters, and in some cases the chef, reported was vegan but turned out not to be. We were served bread with dairy ingredients, tortillas made with lard, pasta made with egg, etc. A couple of restaurants serve mostly fried foods that smelled and tasted meaty even if the food itself was vegan (ie, tortilla chips). Sadly, though the residences have full kitchens, it was next-to-impossible to get ingredients to put together a meal yourself so we were stuck with what they had. Many staff members made an effort to help us, and the menus have "vegetarian" and "gluten free" labels, but the understanding of their importance just isn't up to the standard in the US. I would advise Marival to serve more basics like beans, rice, vegetables, and focus less on trying to make everything gourmet, and pursue staff education on understanding ingredients and cross-contamination, before they assure food-restricted guests they will have a successful visit. For now, I would not recommend people with allergies, celiacs, vegans or strict vegetarians visit.
Everyone else, the resort is lovely and you will have a great time! Services and amenities were all on point.
Advice for Marival: provide dishwashing soap and washing machine detergent to guests in a reasonable way. Buying a very large bag of liquid detergent refill (the only thing available in resort gift shop) shouldn't have been necessary to use the in-unit washer for a load of laundry, and it really diminishes the niceness of having these facilities provided.
We had a group of 16 down at the beach. We spent most of the days down at the beach. We had a very large group and a guy Victor provided excellent service all day everyday. He did everything he could to make our stay as good as possible. Thanks Victor see you in 2020 gramps.
The Resort is great. The Mozzarella Mare Restaurant on the beach is fantastic. The beach concierge personnel super friendly. Excellent wait service. Ask for a cabana and sit back and relax.. Carlos Pineda the concierge was fantastic.
