BEWARE - Deceptive Availability Online / Bait and Switch

We booked the Westin for our anniversary. We had dinner and saw a play downtown and then got to the hotel to check in. We had paid in advance for a king room a few days before, but upon arrival we were told they had oversold and that there were no king beds available. We were offered a double room instead and were offered comped parking. However, we immediately visited the hotel website which was also still showing availability for king rooms for this particular night, meaning anyone booking / paying for a king bed would come to the hotel and be given a double bed regardless. Buyer beware - if the type of room you book is important to your stay, DONT book here! We weren’t the only ones being downgraded at checkin either. Their online system inventory can’t be trusted and they will continue to sell king rooms online only to bait and switch upon arrival. If your room type is important like it was for us, go with another hotel! Hopefully they will have better inventory management, and won’t actively continue to sell a product online that isn’t available.

Front desk staff needs attention
Nancy S

Stayed here 5 days with my husband who was on a business trip. Hotel front desk staff had 1 woman who was very nice. The rest were very unprofessional when providing their full on attention to a guest checking in or even accessories they wore with their hotel attire.. being in this field myself I know what to expect from an employee. One of the employees in particular night shift was on his cellphone holding it up and my husband walked over to ask a question the man didn’t even look up he continued looking at his phone and answered the question my husband asks. That is so unprofessional. This particular staff member seemed as though he wasn’t interested in working or even speaking to us. Another staff member at the front desk whom I approached to ask a simple question also was talking to other staff members and were gossiping. She didn’t even acknowledge me there and when I said excuse me it was like I was interrupting them.. really??? I think management also needs to take a look at their staff because this woman also had hair clips that said“sexy” isn’t that kind of unprofessional? I felt like a bunch of teenagers were working the front staff.. this service should be impeccable it’s what guests first experience when they check in to your hotel! Only service that was nice was the cleaning staff and restaurant staff and the food was really good. The room the first night was missing hand soap and shampoo(no biggy but still..) and it seems as though around the ac unit up top there was black mold which was painted over..bathroom tiles had black stuff in between and there was hair in the bathtub! I wish I took pics. Not sure if I will be back to this particular location. I had better service at the holiday inn last time we came. I almost never give bad reviews but this was just awful. Please speak with your front desk staff regarding attire and providing full attention to guests to avoid reviews such as mine. Thank you!

I'd stay here again

If you need to be on the north side of Atlanta, near Sandy Springs, this is a good spot. My room was very comfortable. Good sized bathroom. Very nice fitness facility. I think the pool was closed for the season, but it looked nice from my room. Walking distance to supermarket (Publix). 45 minute ride from Atlanta Airport.
