Miami’s hip Brickell nabe is filled with skyscrapers and the shimmering Four Seasons tower is among the most impressive with its stunning views over Biscayne Bay. A waterwall and striking sculptures greet guests in the cavernous lobby – more than $3 million worth of Latin American art is sprinkled throughout the hotel. All 221 guestrooms offer a modern take on Four Seasons elegance with large Deco-inspired headboards, marble bathrooms with designer Ortigia products and techy perks like HD TVs and DVD players. Also impressive: The two-acre terrace on the seventh floor with three swimming pools, the 50,000-square-foot gym and the buzzy Edge steakhouse.
In the Area
The boutiques, bars and restaurants of the growing Brickell are truly world class. Grab speakeasy-style cocktails at Blackbird Ordinary or party at Brit pub–inspired haute hotspot the Hoxton. Catch a concert or the Miami Heat playing in their own kingdom, American Airlines Arena, just a few minutes north. Or get your dose of culture at the nearby Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. The Prelude by Barton G. offers a $29 prix-fixe dinner menu for seatings prior to 7:30 p.m.
How to Get There
I recently held an elegant travel-themed event at this Hotel, but would not do so again.... I am a frequent guest at Four Seasons hotels in various other destinations. Everything is usually outstanding, but I was generally very disappointed by the catering services and food provided by this hotel for an elegant event costing approximately $500 per person (including gratuity, taxes, and fees) for a cocktail reception, seated dinner, premium open bar, coffee station, and uplighting. The cost for various entertainment, room decor, and elaborate floral arrangements amounted to approximately an additional $500 per person. Thus, I expected something befitting of the overall cost of approximately $1000 per person, but no one would have guessed that was the cost of what was provided.
While my entertainment vendors and florist all delivered at anticipated superior levels, the food left much to be desired and was not up to the standards one would expect from a Four Seasons. The duo tenderloin/sea bass entree was good tasting, but very small and overshadowed by the large portion of low cost side vegetables, the lobster bisque was average, and the greens and cherry tomato caprese salad was disappointing. The passed hors d'ourves were, however, very good. For the price, we could have had a truly spectacular and impressive meal from Capital Grille, Mastros, etc. The wait staff, bartender, and Banquet Captain were excellent though.
Also, one of the Hotel's recommended decor vendors (The Gilded Group) that I used was an overpriced and disappointing option. In addition to it being generally difficult to arrive at my vision of the room, their artistic designer provided art renderings for backdrops that looked mediocre. I ended up researching and locating beautiful backdrop scenes that were ultimately used. Meanwhile, I was charged a fee for their artistic talent. Also, despite providing a rendering of a travel directional sign that I had approved, had provided the names of destinations to be used with the distances from Miami as to each, and was assured would be constructed to my specifications, the work product that I got the night of the event did not look professionally done, was missing many of the requested destinations, and did not have the quality look like the rendering that had been previously provided to me and approved.
Also, The Gilded Group was going to charge me hundreds of dollars more just for the privilege of taking some of their overpriced table centerpieces home, so I decided to use another vendor, Pistils and Petals, which provided absolutely gorgeous florals and exceptional service without a charge for taking home some of the flowers that were being purchased for many thousands of dollars. However, the room draping, the organic balloon decor, and the room entry decor was attractive and was provided by The Gilded Group as expected.
All in all, I expected more from the Four Seasons relative to my event.
timely room service, quiet room, great towels and bathroom space. Pleasant staff, quality ingredients and service at Edge. nice views, comfortable bed. TV channels in spanish and english; good desk space and plenty of usb and plug outlets
Excellent service as always, and the hotel amenities and atmosphere are top notch. Staff always make sure to greet everyone whenever you are noticed. I always feel like a Queen when I stay at the Four Seasons.
Travelling with the family (incl teenagers) and we all had a great time for year end celebration. The Edge restaurant offers great dinning (early and late dining) and then by the pool celebration was great.
Complete luxury! Once you've stayed here, you won't want to stay anywhere else. The Four Seasons does everything with 5 star quality. From the decor, service, down to the comfort of the bed. We requested a microwave, extra fridge and blender...it was in our room before we even arrived.
