How to Get There
We booked an overnight stay here for a belated birthday trip. The hotel is charming and exceptionally clean. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and to acknowledge my special day. They sent us a bottle of Prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries, both of which were delicious! I had booked a facial and a technician was unavoidably detained due to a terrible accident on I 95. While I waited, the staff brought me truffles and more champagne!! When Debbie, the aesthetician, did arrive, she was obviously harried, but didn’t make me feel rushed at all and I had one of the best facialsI’ve ever been treated to. Our bed was super comfy and the water pressure in the shower was terrific… Those are two things that I always pay careful attention to when I travel. We were treated to a really nice complementary breakfast before we checked out this morning. After we left, I realize that I had left my phone charger in the room. A bellman cheerfully escorted me back so that I could retrieve it. Every staff member we encountered was polite and hospitable.... I can’t wait to go back! Well done..
We had a wonderful experience at the Delaware Hotel in Southport!!! It started with a request for a hypoallergenic room. The room was immaculate and I am a VERY meticulous person!!! Next, our adult children were checking in without my husband and I; as the reservation was in my name and on my credit card! I called ahead because I know that can sometimes be a problem, not at the Delamar, my children said they were greeted so well with a complimentary beverage and bottled water! All of the amenities in the room were of good quality and helpful! A complimentary breakfast buffet was included with our stay. There were eggs (two varieties), bacon (cooked to perfection), a very FRESH fruit salad with melons, berries, pineapple and grapes, yogurt, ganola ( looked homemade), assorted pastry’s, breads and bagels, juice, coffee and a beautiful selection of tea! All fresh and delicious!!! Again I add, I am a very discerning person! I had some questions about ingredients and a couple of requests for the waitstaff, they were so accomadating and helpful!!! There is a parking garage at the hotel; plenty of parking. I also requested at late checkout if possible, which they provided for us! Lastly upon checkout, they offered us bottled water for our trip! From the moment we arrived until, literally, the moment we left, the Delamar Hotel was taking care of us!!! The employees were kind, accommodating, professional and sincere! Thank you Delmar for a wonderful stay in Southport, I highly recommend!!!
The Delamar is a bit hard to find if you rely on Google maps and are coming off 95 South. After some experimentation benefited by daylight, did find the hotel and glad I did. Front desk staff were very friendly at check in and check out and the room was quiet , spacious and well appointed. Did not get a chance to visit the restaurant for breakfast as it opened at 7 am and I had to leave earlier. The village of Southport look to warrant more exploration on a future visit when more time is available.
We loved this sweet little inn recommended by a local. The rooms were spacious and clean, the service was top notch and we enjoyed treatments at in the intimate spa. It is in close proximity to everything we wanted to do and our drink at the bar turned into dinner. We loved the menu and the vibe so decided to stay on property. We were not disappointed. We would high recommend or consider coming again.
The rooms are very nice and spacious with a colonial style but all new furniture and fixtures. The staff is very helpful and they always have a smile. The food served as part of a business dinner in the meeting room and it was very good.
