Staff was excellent and profession. My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice quiet weekend together to relax and the Delamar provided just what we were looking for. Would recommend this place to several friends and family members.

Too expensive for what it was

I recently stayed at this hotel for 6 Nights. It is a bit rundown for the price. The staff make up for it though. The reception, the restaurant and the bar staff are there to make you feel at home and go the extra mile to Ensure that.

The Delamar Southport was absolutely lovely. The staff was extremely nice and professional and everything was beautiful, modern, and updated. I would 100% recommend staying here if you're trying to go to Fairfield, Southport, or Westport. I would also 100% go back for another weekend getaway. Highly recommend!

Not the best experience

For New Year’s Eve my husband and I wanted to get away and enjoy some quality time together. I have been to the DeLaMar in Greenwich, CT. and while looking at the DeLaMar Southport website we thought it would be the perfect location to do so.
We ended up booking the romance package for the first night we were there which included a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, rose petals scattered throughout the room and a credit to a restaurant.
Upon arrival we noticed the pictures on the website looked nothing like the inside of the hotel. (very outdated) When entering the room there was a cheap $5 bottle of champagne waiting for us with no rose petals or chocolate covered strawberries. Two hours later someone called the room saying they would be delivering something to us. (Thought it was the strawberries) Housekeeping arrived with 5 sorry looking roses that were supposed to be scattered around the room.
Our dinner credit was to the terry lodge restaurant. (I have been to the one in Port Chester which is beautiful and elegant) Food was undercooked and they rushed everything trying to get everyone out of the restaurant before 9pm.
My husband tried to be a good sport and laugh the whole trip off but I’m glad we got out of there a day early.
All in all it was a terrible experience. Do not book the romance package. If you are from Westchester the hotel is nothing like the Greenwich DeLaMar and the Terry Lodge is nothing like the Port Chester Terry Lodge.

I also never got my strawberries...
