How to Get There
On our recent trip to Scotland, we wanted the experience of staying in a castle. This hotel is affordable, includes a delicious breakfast, and makes a dramatic entrance. We had an issue with the room I booked on Booking.com not being available, so I would recommend booking directly with the hotel if you are going to stay there. The staff was considerate and accommodating, giving us two superior rooms. I would say the rooms are lacking in that "castle appeal" and luxury you'd expect when you stay in a castle. While our family had to be separated, they took care of us. The food is delicious and the included breakfast is substantial and authentic. We ate dinner at the castle twice and both times the food was superb. One must try the Sticky Toffee Pudding. If you want a luxurious castle experience, I'd look elsewhere, but for a night or two in a castle surrounded with history and kind people, this is a good choice.
Great value for nice comfortable rooms and beautiful location. Easy access to Edinburgh and Lower Highlands. Seems you are staying in a private country estate but everything is nearby. Accomidating and friendly staff and very good on site bar and restaurant.
Having stayed at the two castle hotels this year, we will always come back to Melville Castle. Our exprience was one of much more attentive staff and much better value fro money. Had a lovely walk through the woodland trail.
Indeed we rebooked to stay again on our return journey home from the Highlands, well done Melville Castle and thank you.
