How to Get There
We chose Melville Castle as our Wedding venue after discovering it online. Its a wonderful romantic setting in beautiful surroundings. The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful both throughout our planning and our stay. Hospitable and welcoming. Food was very good and chef was flexible with dietary requirements. Very happy to have spent some time here and likely to return again. Amazing to think I may have sat on the same bidet or bathed in the same bath/hot tub as Mary Queen of Scots and Queen Victoria ;0
We bought a voucher for an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. We had a lovely room. Very spacious!!
The dinner was beautiful and service was great. The setting is beautiful and I wish we could have stayed a bit longer.
My only gripe would be the buffet breakfast but that’s a personal thing as I am not keen on them. There was plenty of choice but it’s never hot enough.
As I say though it’s a wonderful place to stay and dinner was fantastic!!
I was here for a wedding and it was magical. The place is beautiful and prepared for a perfect wedding. I recommend it as a place to look at. The views were astonishing and the rooms nice and comfortable! Very nice!
We booked a two night stay at the Melville Castle Hotel on Wowcher.
We were totally amazed at the grandeur of the building set in lovely grounds with the river running by.
It was easy to find and well sign posted.
A pleasant young man greeted us at reception and directed us to our room.
Evening meal was a little slow but very delicious, I recommend the Haggis Bon Bon's as a starter.
We had read that our room was visited by a ghost but on our visit it must have been scared away by the occupant upstairs with the heavy feet.
I thoroughly recommend this establishment for a visit.
Stayed for 1 night on a Saturday. There was a wedding ongoing in a nearby Marquee
the guests did not interfere in any way.Really beautifull setting next to the River Esk.
The central staircase is amazing for such a historic building.Room was large and comfortable.Restaurant seems to be under used but the food presentation and choice was great. Good breakfast hot and cold buffet style.
