Soaring high-tech tower for the corporate crowd with its own mall and a buffet of restaurants
The twin triangular topped towers — one an office block, the other the 56-floor Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel — are a distinctive feature on the business district skyline. There’s a masculine feel to the architecture and the interiors with contemporary décor in muted shades and dark woods. But there is a women-only floor that’s serviced exclusively by female staff and includes, of all things, a cosmetics fridge. At lobby level, the Boulevard is an upmarket mall that sells Cartier and Lanvin. The spa has a flotation pool and oxygen bar, while the 16 restaurants and lounges include light bites and a knockout outlook at Vu on the 51st floor.
In the Area
There’s a lot of wealth in Dubai’s business neighborhood, and they’re not afraid to show it: the gate-shaped Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) is a must see, and it isn’t all business, with restaurants, boutiques and art galleries. Nearby is the 2,717-foot-high Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, which has an observation deck if you have a head for heights, as well as At.mosphere restaurant on level 122, and a surrounding 27 acre park with a spectacular water and light show for those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground. Another world record holder in the area, at over 12 million square feet, is the Dubai Mall, where you can scuba dive, ice skate and see 3D movies (in addition to, ya know, shopping).
