Unashamedly modern. The Indian-owned property has confidently blended Southeast Asian touches with Middle Eastern design motifs. You’ll find great swaths of creamy marble throughout, twinkling crystal chandeliers, chunky columns studded with gold mosaic tiles, and walls dotted with striking black-and-white photos of Indian palaces.
Bed and Bath
The chic style continues in the guestrooms, where contemporary art decorates the walls, dark wooden flooring adds a sleek touch, and crisp white linens invite you to bed. Bathrooms are equipped with freestanding tubs, Etro products and silk robes, and look out at either the Burj Khalifa, a dark-tiled pool or the neighboring residential areas. The overall feel is corporate luxe: Room service is speedy, WiFi is free, windows come with blackout blinds, the flat-screen TVs are loaded with international channels, and dainty macaroons are provided in the room on arrival.
As you’d expect, the hotel’s signature Indian restaurant, Ananta, is exceptional, offering an introduction to the cuisine for newcomers and specialist dishes for those with a practiced palate. The Southeast Asian tone flows through to the spa (open 9 a.m. to midnight), where there’s a menu of global treatments including Balinese massages and ayurvedic therapies, including shirodhara, in which herbal oils are poured over your “third eye” (forehead) to relax you into a trancelike state. Take a dip in the huge pool, surrounded by cushioned loungers, where you’ll be welcomed with the ultimate poolside pack, a tray containing such goodies as SPF 30 sunscreen and frozen fruit.
In the Area
The Oberoi is bang in the middle of Business Bay, a relatively new area in Dubai close to downtown’s hip restaurants, including Zuma, in Dubai’s International Financial Center, and The Ivy, in Emirates Towers, not to mention the Burj Khalifa and the enormous Dubai Mall. Many neighboring developments are still being built, so you may have views of construction sites, but you’re very close to the action.
How to Get There
I recently stayed a few nights as a respite from a business stay at a different hotel nearby.
My first stay at an Oberoi and I must say that I'm hooked on their service and attention to detail.
My room consisted of Bedroom/Lounge (very spacious) a bathroom (separate Bath and Shower) and a luggage room/walk-in wardrobe.
The layout is exceptional in the Oberoi rooms. You walk into a fabulous open room. The bathroom is accessed via a door behind your bed. This gave the room a very homely feel, and it was a lovely change from the normal walk in experience where you're in a corridor with the bathroom to your left or right.
There were nice touches in the room like fresh fruit being left out, some juicy dates to enjoy and a nice little short story book by the bedside. All little touches that just added a little more to the experience.
The hotel is in the newer Business Bay area, this is still being built when I went, but much of Dubai is always being 'built', so no bother from noise or anything (I was on the 26th floor).
From the moment I walked in I knew this Hotel was different. I checked in at a desk, and I mean a two person business desk while seated on an armchair. A really nice touch, I was served a little refreshing juice while we sorted my keys. I felt truly decadent.
I didn't get a chance to use the pool or eat, but I'm fairly sure the experience would have been excellent. I did however use the first rate little gym.
Katarina was running the gym and she was kind enough to give me a little personal training. She was just fabulous, made me work hard but then chilled me with some yoga stretches and calming music. I felt refreshed and invigorated and certainly ready for my day. Thank you Katarina!
I'm now looking to stay there again and take my family. See you soon Oberoi Dubai!!
the location is very good as it close to the dubai mall, dubai opera house .
the luxury suite was very comfortable with an outside balcony. It has its own dining room,
with TV and lounge with tv. bedroom has its own TV and is huge with a nice dressing
I had a great experience during my stay at the Oberoi. When there some issues with the room that was originally assigned to me the team under the leadership of their General Manager, Karim Bizid immediately took the steps to make things right. It was my pleasure staying at the Oberoi in Dubai and meeting Karim. He is not only a great professionally but is also a very good human being who cares about his staff and attracts and retains the best.
Being a frequent business traveler that stays in 5-star properties all over the world quite regularly it is very rarely that I am able to take the time to write reviews online. However this property and most importantly the General Manager and the entire team (including the very attentive servers and staff at the in-house restaurants) deserve a shout out. When in Dubai stay here and you will not be disappointed! Well done.
We stayed there on our way from Mumbai And then onwards flight to London in 4 days.
The hotel has excellent and spacious modern rooms which beats most hotels in Dubai.
We had booked through travel agents a deluxe suite. Really large room with two toilets, bath, shower unit and bidet.
The staff are really friendly and we had a proper holiday feeling refreshed and ready to take a long flight back to London.
We cannot thank the management enough for making our stay memorable. We would highly recommend this hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff are really friendly and our hotel was modern, luxurious and extremely large rooms. We checked in on 11/7/18 around 5.45 pm and we were given Room 801 which is a deluxe suite. The management was really kind and they treated us like a family. I cannot thank enough all the staff who looked after us and made our holidays very special. Well done!! We would highly recommend this hotel to all who are coming to Dubai.
