Directly opposite the world’s tallest building and the world’s largest mall, the Taj Dubai is a luxe high-rise in the heart of downtown Dubai. The rooms and suites are done in soothing neutral tones, with hand-made furniture, hand-painted Indian artworks and floor-to-ceiling windows. For more space and comfort, book a Junior Suite; the extra features include walk-in wardrobes, a separate living room and an extra-wide kingsize bed. The marble bathrooms come with a tub and twin sinks. Take your pick of four restaurants: light snacks and cocktails at the Byzantium Lounge; authentic Peruvian cuisine at Tesoro; gastro pub–style fare at the Eloquent Elephant; and Indian specialties at Bombay Brasserie. Cool off by the outdoor pool or indulge with the signature Thaqthia amiqa treatment (an exfoliating scrub followed by relaxation massage) at the Jiva spa.
In the Area
No visit to Dubai is complete without a trip to the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa. At 2,722 feet, the building is more than twice the height of the Empire State Building. Just next door, the Dubai Mall is an enormous shopping complex with more than 1,200 stores and 120 restaurants. And don’t leave the city without first experiencing an Evening Desert Safari. Try your hand at sandboarding and camel riding; then witness a traditional belly dancing show under the glittering desert stars.
How to Get There
Our last stopover, Dubai and we chose The Taj; and I am so glad that we did. It was the cherry on the cake and made us forget the horrible experience of Istanbul hotel.
When I had booked I informed them, that we are on a trip to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The next day I get a call from the hotel, informing me that they have upgraded us to the club room and if I could send a few pictures for them to make a personalized card, and let it be a total surprise for my wife. I was touched and duly complied.
Is perfect. Just a few minutes’ drive to Burj Khalifa/ Dubai Mall. Every 1 hour there is free shuttle to and fro to the Mall.
Beautiful, peaceful and amazing. Grand lobby and smiling and willing persons at the desk. Check-in was smooth.
We were taken aback, totally!! It was a grand surprise for my wife, but even I was amazed! The room was decorated with flowers and balloons, there were cards with our pictures printed, cake, pastries… the works. Man, this was too much to handle. We were truly truly touched.
The room was clean, very very comfortable, huge bathroom and Burj Khalifa view,… I mean, there was not even a single thing that one could complain about, and I am a very hard to please guest.
The most amazing spread in so many days and all three days, the menu changed. There was an army of well-dressed liveried waiters, ready to rush to you and serve you. Smiles, greetings, courtesy… I mean they really make you feel good and special.
On the last day, my wife was fasting and I just mentioned it to one of the staff in the restaurant, during breakfast, if I could take some fruits for her, to the room. He arranged for a full tray of fruits, yogurt, juice etc and had it sent to the room in a proper way. Guys, you are incredible, indeed. The smiles never left their faces and courtesy was the by-word. Amazing, amazing indeed.
We tried food at both their restaurants and the quality of the food, service, setting, and ambiance- all perfect and top class.
Clean, sufficient deck space, lounge chairs.. the works.
I can go on and on gushing about the hospitality. Hey guys for the Western world hotels, what is hospitality, come, take a few lessons from the Taj, or come and stay here to experience the true meaning of hospitality. You are still in kindergarten whereas Taj is the holder of masters degree.
Smooth and again a HUGE surprise, we were presented with a card with our picture, with a thank you note. How much better can it get, now?
A BIG THANK YOU to Mr. Vinay and Ms. Mansi along with their team, Monica and am forgetting a few other names, who all made our stay truly memorable and we will cherish these memories, forever.
Dubai- The Taj, is the place to stay… no, it is a place to experience. Words fail to thank the entire team- from the doorman to the desk staff to the porters to managers- not one person failed nor did ever fail to smile. We left overwhelmed.
And once again...
Wah Taj ! Wah !!
Me and my wife stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary trip. Overall experience was the best we have ever had. Staff was super professional and helpful. Mansi Gehlot at the reception made sure that all of our expectations were met and much more. She organised a rose petal surprise in our room with cake and everything. Absolutely amazed by the hard work she did to make our stay the best possible. Also the cleaning staff deserves a medal for their work. Thank you so much Taj Dubai for making our trip so nice!
Stayed here as part of a travel group and was greeted with beaded necklaces and a fresh cool drink. Customer service and concierge service was excellent. Full buffet breakfast was fantastic. Maid service was exemplary. I was unable to find a single thing during my stay that was not up to 5 star quality.
