What We Love

  • The views of Burj Khalifa from a cabana on the resort’s private beach
  • The special child-sized Bulgari bath products in sensitive skin formulations
  • The whole resort is wheelchair-accessible

What To Know

  • Guests can check-in from their rooms—no need to stand at reception
  • The only Bulgari Resort with a kids’ club, it’s all very family friendly, with services from babysitting to kids’ cooking classes
  • It’s touted as the most expensive hotel in Dubai, but that applies only to the private villas; room prices are comparable to other five-star hotels

Italian design meets Emirati decadence in this splurge-tastic hotel, with its own private beach and the first Bulgari Yacht Club

The Lowdown

Where most Dubai hotels reach up into the sky, the new Bulgari Resort spreads itself out luxuriously, over a stretch of sandy private beach on Jumeirah Bay Island. No building is higher than four floors, and there’s plenty of privacy. Each of the rooms and suites comes with its own balcony, a deep bathtub with separate shower, and a walk-in closet. Space, here, is plentiful. We love the minibar hidden in a vintage-style trunk and the silk walls in the rooms, as well as the heritage Bulgari pieces pulled from the archives and displayed around the resort. The spa is suitably decadent, with an indoor swimming pool with spectacular sea views, (real) gold tiles, and heaps of features (ice fountain, rainforest showers, steam rooms, vitality pools) designed to get you feeling invigorated, soothed, or a combination of both, as fast as possible. And then there’s the Yacht Club, with its members’ lounge, outdoor pool and 50-berth harbor. Don’t forget your boat.

In the Area

The hotel has a prime spot on Jumeirah Bay, a seahorse-shaped, man-made island connected to the mainland via bridge. Although it feels like a resort – it’s possible to go days without leaving the hotel grounds and not feel like you’re missing out – the nightlife, restaurants and sights of Dubai are just a 15-minute drive away. The Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest, sells everything from Cartier to Cavalli, but there’s also an aquarium, a movie theater, and an ice-skating rink. Book tickets in advance for trips to the observation deck at the top of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building at 160 stories. Dubai’s Persian Quarter is a wonderful place to wander for an afternoon; make sure to stop into the Arabian Tea House while you’re there for a traditional multi-dish breakfast and a fresh juice in the airy courtyard.

Bulgari Majlis Experience
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I visited Bulgari Majlis again this year for Ramadan. There were huge selections of appetizers, salads, selection of meats, turkey, and fish. Also, there were live cooking stations for pasta & rissoto. There were so many cheese options to choose from which burrata was my favorite one. Desserts were my favorite part of my visit. Their Um Ali , tiramisu and kunafa were so delicious. There were so many sweets and fruits to choose from. There were 6 flavors of gelato with many topping to choose from them. There were many servers who constantly take unwanted dishes and glasses from the table. I recommend this iftar buffet to everyone, specially the ones who are the fan of high quality Italian cheese, food and dessert.

Fabulous visit

We booked 3 nights en route to Mauritius. It started badly with a truly ghastly check in. Not sure what happened but we were left sitting for 15 minutes. We were very frustrated by that.

But then things changed dramatically. Our suite on the ocean side was fabulous. Clean crisp lines. Immaculate and beautifully designed. With a long balcony on floor 3 we had wonderful views across the marina.

Service from then on was impeccable. Friendly, efficient and we really appreciated being recognised by our names everywhere. We could list many names but I won’t for fear of missing out someone.

Drinking in the bar was delightful and we really loved the friendly conversations. The beach staff were brilliant and really looked after us.

We loved Niko Romito which I have reviewed separately.

Check out was a delight even though at 1am.

We are returning later this month and really looking forward to it.

An amazing place to stay.

This hotel, does not look like much from the reception, I mean compared to some of the lobbies in Dubai of course, but everything else is amazing. The rooms are spectacular. They have the view of the ocean and complete amenities. Shower, walk in closet, bathtub, private toilet, desk, mini bar with Nespresso machine. All the controls are done from an Ipad including booking of massages and room service. The hotel, has a beautiful beach, and outstanding restaurants and their service is impeccable. Loved it.
