Magical stay and wildlife paradise

It only takes 2.5 hr drive from Abu dhabi and 1/2 hr on the ferry then we got transferred to the resort. Resort is not too big so luckily doesnt get too crowded. There are 2 restaurants for the evening and 1 breakfast restaurant. You also have a choice to get shuttle bus to go to restaurants in other resorts. There is an activity centre, watersports, beach and infinity pool.
Even basic rooms with sea view are just amazing and very spacious.
Food is very good and very fresh, high quality. Breakfast even includes gluten free options.
The hospitality and staff are just beyond 5 star. You get fantastic experience from the moment you arrive throughout the whole stay regardless if you are in the restaurant, at the pool or out on your activities.
Activities guides are fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeble.
We bought a package of 2 activities in our room price. We chose wildlife trip in 4x4 and mountain biking trip and very much enjoyed both of them and highly recommend.
Looking forward to coming back one day!

Best Ever Hospitality Experience!

I’ve been to hundreds of hotels in the region and around the world and this is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. From the welcome at the ferry, the friendly and welcoming staff at the reception, the staff at the restaurants, at the health club, the spa, the transportation team, every single staff member we met at the hotel was very professional, welcoming and friendly!

Make sure to try the Boma outdoor barbecue experience and do some of the activities (some that are great for the whole family).

Special thanks to Rashid, Arya, Ryan, Azri, Moatha, Nicolas for being amazing!

We very much recommend this hotel and we definitely coming back again!

5-star Weekend Retreat

My wife and I visited Desert Islands Resort and Spa for a few days and we loved our stay. The level of attention we were given from the staff, the facilities, the property were all well above expectation.

The real highlights were:
Amrit at the bar - what a gem! He was very attentive, kind, and made the best margaritas! Top-notch service.

Delilah - she was with us for our breakfast and dinner service; always serving us with laughter. She even brought some tea out when my wife was feeling ill.

Chef Yogi - his food is delicious! We ate at a few of the other restaurants and Amwaj was hands-down our favorite. Every meal was impeccably prepared and wolfed down within minutes!

We also highly recommend:
The spa - it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. The staff was very accommodating and prices were reasonable.

Kayaking - Owen took us out to Kayak within the mangroves. It was a pleasant day outside and I highly recommend this activity.

Thanks for such a great stay! I’ll definitely be back.

Very good hotel

Very relaxing environment. The boat ride to and from the hotel are great experiences and helps install that feeling that you are getting away from the city. The island is quite large and desolate which add to the sentiment of getting away. It is about a 25 minute boat ride to the island and a 20 minute bus ride to the hotel, all of which is very well organized.

The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained. Our room 212, was very large and we found it in very good condition.

The kids club was a great spot for our kids (7 and 4) with adequate supervision and enough to keep them busy for a couple hours at a time.

The beach is nothing to write home about but its there if its a hot sunny day.

The swimming pool is nice and there is a life guard on duty.

We enjoyed drinks around the pool and the poolside restaurant has some nice couches and seating areas where you and your family can relax and have lunch...for adults a good spot for some adult drinks and shisha in the evening.

We had the beach BBQ for dinner which had an excellent selection of food that could meet anyones tastes. The breakfast buffet was also very good and again great selection.

The staff were all very friendly and have no complaints in that regard.

We did the 1.5 hour safari at 9am. It was great, our driver was excellent and very knowledgable, kids loved it. Highlights were giraffes and cheetahs, but manage expectations in terms of diversity and it is a little staged as there are specified feeding and watering areas so many animals are congregated there.

My biggest struggle, as with so many places in the UAE is the price. This a neat experience and delivers on 4.5 to 5 star service and amenities, but the price tag always makes me cringe.
