How to Get There
We were very excited about the hotel as we waited for a while as this is quite an expensive property and one of our 1st South property.
Parking directions were not great, room was too small to receive, shade areas needed for summers.
Boat was fine but steps can be better for older parents.
Visit to hotel was good but room was not inline with 5 star experience.. taps, lighting, location of a/c and light switch, bad quality..
Food was the most disappointing in restaurants, breakfast, in room dining. Veg options as well Indian is crucial as there is huge Indian guests come. Food authencity is crucial for top hotels. Chef was unable to achieve quality and options from menu were not available.
Kayaking was not up to int’l std. biking in summer went wrong as no rest areas on the way.
Hotel shops can be improved. Additional trip to mainland can be helpful.
Overall compared to other 5 star hotels from northern Emirates, india, etc, this is not a rear experience. At the same time, it is great effort to develop jungles and place for animals.
Lovely place to visit for a short and relaxing getaway.About 2 -3 hrs drive from abu Dhabi.Better in cooler months thought we visited in June.We drove to Sir Bani Yas Ferry station and the hotel arranged a free ferry to the island. All very well organized by the Anantara group.
The island is beautiful and untouched and has a large wild life reserve. There is no traffic on the roads except the few safari jeeps of the hotels
The hotel itself is beautiful with large rooms.I would recommend eating at Amwaj restaurant and ask for Yogendra.Excellent seafood.
There are lots of activities but its better to arrange them in advance.Definitely advise doing the wild life safari sittin in an safari jeep.We were lucky to see giraffe and cheetah and Ali was an excellent guide and all very safe.Of course plenty of gazelle and oryx all over the island and even an ostrich.
The Wadi walk with our guide Mark is also worth doing. We went at sunset into the rocky valley to see all the rock formation .Better to do it at night but it has a lot of hiking involved though not difficult if you are relatively active.
We also did horse riding in the early morning .Very safe even if you've never ridden before.
Other activities included a cultural and historical tour.
But all this comes at a price as most of the activities are expensive and the hotels too are expensive
Very nice hotel and pleasant staying. Well maintained green area around with few restaurants available.
Surprisingly safari trip not so bad; I can imagine that for children is great. Next time we need to add one more day for staying.
Room was nice but only had a King bed with no other sleeping accommodation even though booked for two adults and two 7 year old children. We we told this is standard industry accommodation for 4 people. Other than sleeping arrangements other amenities were ok.
This was great, relaxing but too short a trip with friends. One needs at least 2 nights. It took us 4 hours(incuding a breakfast stop) to reach the jetty at Abu Dhabi. We had complimentary drinks, coffee& cookies while we waited for the 12noon ferry. It took us 15mins to reach the other side where a bus was waiting to take us 12...15mins away to the hotel. Check in was quick while we enjoyed our welcome drink & a complementary 5min shoulder massage. Its a good idea to book your spa treatment and the wildlife drive at this point. Rooms were spacious, v comfortable & well equipped with water, tea & coffee making facilities. Restaurants were good....we enjoyed dinner at Olio! Breakfast was a big spread at The Palm. The highlight was the wildlife drive...We had a very well informed & helpful guide, Khalid. We were lucky to see plenty of animals...cheetah,deer,blackbuck,giraffe,peacock etc. Pool was small but good. There are 2 small boutiques at the hotel where one can buy swimwear, flip flops etc.A really good relaxing getaway!!
