The Lowdown

Opened in 2012, the 258-room Fairmont Grand Hotel blends classical elegance with modern luxuries; it was the first property in Eastern Europe under the Fairmont brand. Ranging from 431 to 570 square feet, the hotel’s standard guestrooms provide a significant amount of space and feature marble bathrooms, 42-inch HDTVs, deluxe bathrobes and Le Labo toiletries. Suites come with kingsize Stearns & Foster beds, separate bedrooms and sitting areas — as much as 2,368 square feet of space — as well as amenities like free breakfast, access to a private lounge and evening canapés (for Fairmont Gold Suites). The Elixir Spa provides treatments such as a Chocolate Delight body wrap, hot stone or Swedish massages and Roman baths. There are several lounges, including the Vintage Cocktail Bar, which specializes in craft beverages, cigars and shisha, and the Grand Cru Champagne Bar, which serves caviar, light bites and pastries. The Strand Grill offers gorgeous city views and serves an impressive breakfast as well as charcoal-grilled steaks and traditional Ukrainian and Mediterranean fare from an open kitchen.

In the Area

Kiev is dotted with stunning cathedrals and museums. Saint Sophia Cathedral and Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (Caves Monastery) are two iconic religious sights, while the Mykola Syadristy Microminiatures Museum displays tiny, intricate works of art. There are several parks that offer a change of pace, including Feofania Park and the Grishko Central Botanical Garden. Shoppers can visit the Besarabsky Market for fresh produce, spices and other local produce, or hit the Globus Mall for designer stores and restaurants. Head to Slavutych Shato Brewery for a casual meal and quality beer, or enjoy an evening out at Fiori Il Ristorante, which serves Ukrainian favorites as well as international dishes.

Stayed for two days , the hotel is not in the centre of Kiev city but located few miles from centre . It over looks the river and is in a quiet area .
Rooms are clean and spacious , staff are well trained ,courteous and friendly. Breakfast is good and room service is great .
A good stay overall , will certainly come back .

Friendly staff and helpful concierge.
Short walk from the funicular and not far at all from the main shopping street.
My room was spacious, but was too classical for my taste, river view was spectacular especially in the early morning.

Splendid, excellent

Great Hotel

This is the best hotel I've used in Kyiv. Very nicely appointed rooms and good standards of service. The only part of the hotel where service was not good was the hotel bar, where service was confused and often slow. No other complaints though.

7 days stay at Fairmont Kyiv

We stayed few times before in Fairmont (both business and family visits). However, we faced declining standards during our last visit:* nobody at the entrance intended to help us with bulky luggage (we have 6 year old boy with us) and help of doormen/concierge would be much appreciated;* room service/staff assistance - awful (we ordered pizza for a boy and waited for 1,5 hours), the reception simply did not pass the order to room service (reason - they did not charge credit card deposit despite we prepaid our 7 days stay)* breakfast: waited more than 10 minutes the staff bring cutlery (they ignore our request), so we left and had lovely breakfast in cafe nearby;* TV set did not work properly (they try to repair it few times)* heating/ventilation didnot work properly (bad smell, uncomfortable temperature in the room)
