Opened in 2012, the 258-room Fairmont Grand Hotel blends classical elegance with modern luxuries; it was the first property in Eastern Europe under the Fairmont brand. Ranging from 431 to 570 square feet, the hotel’s standard guestrooms provide a significant amount of space and feature marble bathrooms, 42-inch HDTVs, deluxe bathrobes and Le Labo toiletries. Suites come with kingsize Stearns & Foster beds, separate bedrooms and sitting areas — as much as 2,368 square feet of space — as well as amenities like free breakfast, access to a private lounge and evening canapés (for Fairmont Gold Suites). The Elixir Spa provides treatments such as a Chocolate Delight body wrap, hot stone or Swedish massages and Roman baths. There are several lounges, including the Vintage Cocktail Bar, which specializes in craft beverages, cigars and shisha, and the Grand Cru Champagne Bar, which serves caviar, light bites and pastries. The Strand Grill offers gorgeous city views and serves an impressive breakfast as well as charcoal-grilled steaks and traditional Ukrainian and Mediterranean fare from an open kitchen.
In the Area
Kiev is dotted with stunning cathedrals and museums. Saint Sophia Cathedral and Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (Caves Monastery) are two iconic religious sights, while the Mykola Syadristy Microminiatures Museum displays tiny, intricate works of art. There are several parks that offer a change of pace, including Feofania Park and the Grishko Central Botanical Garden. Shoppers can visit the Besarabsky Market for fresh produce, spices and other local produce, or hit the Globus Mall for designer stores and restaurants. Head to Slavutych Shato Brewery for a casual meal and quality beer, or enjoy an evening out at Fiori Il Ristorante, which serves Ukrainian favorites as well as international dishes.
How to Get There
Awesome place to stay in Kiev. Room was spacious and comfortable, house keeping staff is very friendly and helpful. Room service is good.
Liked the fitness centre with all weather swimming pool, spa and gym.
Food was good. Would love to stay again.
I stayed four nights in the hotel. District of Podil is the first choice. But the exact location on the spot is very poor. Directly on the feeder road to the airport. Very noisy day and night.
The rooms have many space. Good and comfortable beds. The corridor (3rd floor) in front of my room was often stinky. But fortunately the room was not stinky.
Iridescent and dazzling guests of regular events in the business center with -i guess- more pomposity as money makes you feel like in a bad kind of world.
The Hotel guests are often asians...
The Lobby is very small and poor. The Pool is far too small and cold. You reached it after walking through thousands of nooks and crannies. The steambath is very good. Locker rooms etc. also. One disappointment is the breakfast. Maximum 3-4 stars, but the service at breakfast is okay.
Late check out was very very accommodating. Like the porter.
Our stay at Fairmont Grand hotel was comfortable and joyful. Hotel rooms were neat and clean having basic amenities. Hotel staff was cooperative, well mannered and soft spoken. Hotel location is perfect.
