- Rooms are the definition of Italian decadence
- Hotel concierge has a wealth of local knowledge and off-the-beaten-path recommendations

Our son was married at Villa La Vedetta which was organised from Australia for a small group of ten. The Villa and grounds have amazing views and we were lucky with superb weather, could not have chosen a better venue. The service and quality of the food in the restaurant the day before was excellent as was the food served for the wedding reception/dinner. Our rooms were comfortable and serviced twice daily. Really lovely to be able to stop touring and relax by a pool while in Florence. Exceeded our expectations.
I love villa La Vedetta, the hidden gem! Located next to Piazzale Michelangelo, the villa gives you a feeling of privacy and calm and offers unbelievable views on Duomo and other main city staples.
The staff is friendly and professional, the food is good and restaurant service is attentive. The rooms are good in size and nicely appointed. I liked it a lot.
Great location with amazing views and lovely pool area. The building is beautiful and staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast choice is great and having this on the terrace was a real treat. On the downside room was a bit dated and one of the weddings got quite noisy (there were 3 during a 4 night stay).
The hotel was beautiful and set in a gorgeous location up in the hills above Florence. Perfect for stunning views, without being in the melee of Florence city. The room was a deluxe suite which very nice, again with amazing views of all the historic sites. The hotel had a lovely feel about it, very informal and the staff were great and extremely helpful, even bringing us to our wedding location in the shuttle bus during the day. The shuttle bus runs every hour, but as long as you book, then no problem, in fact if you rang the hotel I’m sure they would have picked us up, if we had missed the bus. Breakfast was nice, not too sure about the spicy sausage, but when in Florence?
They had a great free coffee and tea table with biscuits in the lounge downstairs, which my dad very much enjoyed. They did have a couple of weddings when we were there, but didn’t run past 11pm and were very beautiful. We did say that we would have had our wedding there if they hadn’t been booked out, so it was a lovely location.
The only little negative was the pool and the mosquitoes, all of us were bitten senseless around the pool, even though the hotel did provide deet spray, nothing they can do with nature, but beware. The pool wasn’t heated, quite chilly at the start, but you did get use to it. It had a nice big outside jacuzzi pool too, which was nice, again a little chilly. Be careful of the pool floor, there are small bits of grouting that cuts your toes, something that the hotel should sort out, when the pool is cleaned. All the kids and myself had chunks out of our feet.
We loved the hotel and everything about it, thank you so much for looking after us.
