What We Love
- About a 10-minute drive from the center of Florence, and there’s a chauffeured car to take you there
- True Florentine grandeur: gilded mirrors and stucco, frescoes, marble statues and silk-draped four-poster beds
- Manicured grounds with fountains and a white stone pool surrounded by statues
- Full-service subterranean spa, including a hammam
- An indoor gourmet restaurant, Il Pacha, and from May until October another restaurant overlooking the pool and the gardens
What To Know
- Opulent decor throughout — not the choice for minimalists
- If you want a view of Florence, get a room on the top floor; below that the city sights are obscured by trees
- The pool is closed from November to April
- The wallpaper and fabrics in many of the rooms have an abundance of roses (a nod to Empress Eugénie’s fondness for the flower), so if florals aren’t for you, request a rose-free room
- Free WiFi
- Parking On Site

How to Get There
Villa Cora is grandness on an intimate scale. The Villa is lovely!! The service is superb!! A sweet experience to stay at the Villa so near to Firenze yet within a garden with a divine swimming pool with great guests.
The room we stayed in was super elegant and comfy with a great bathtub. The breakfast was opulent and fun
Villa Cora is a beautiful historic hotel. The building is stunning with an incredible view from the rooftop overlooking Florence where you can sip cocktails. The hotel offers an array of amenities, the marble spa and cigar bar being our favorites. The rooms are spacious and wonderfully decorated. Above all, the service is exceptional all the way around with highly professional and warm staff. We travelled there during the offseason and had an incredible experience. We can't recommend it enough!
Villa Cora is a perfect hotel.
Ideally situated just outside the city, peached on a hill overlooking the town.
Very well maintained. Grand rooms, beautiful pool, great food. The staff were delightful; nothing was too much trouble to make my family's stay wonderful. We all want to go back.
My wife and I had a Junior Suite in the main building. Very luxurious with a free mini-bar! The kids stayed in a Deluxe Twin in the annex - mini bar was off limits for them!!
The hotel provides a free shuttle service to take guests to and from the centre of Florence, however, the walk is not difficult. It was so nice to spend a few hours in the morning in the city and then, when it was getting too hot, ring the hotel and ask them to collect and whisk us back to the haven of the hotel & pool.
And of the pool, there were always beds and fresh towels available, with a ready supply of snacks and drinks. The pool manager does a wonderful job at keeping everyone happy.
I recently traveled to Florence and stayed at the Villa Cora, and have nothing but amazing things to say.
I was planning to propose to my now fiance and needed Villa Cora's assistance in planning some of the logistical elements of the proposal. I reached out via e-mail, and Lorenzo responded very promptly. We were in touch for about a week and half prior to my arrival there. They kept our communication confidential, and my fiance really had no idea, which I definitely appreciated. They were flexible on having the photographer come to the hotel and escorting him to the roof where it was to take place. They organized flowers, gelato and strawberries being sent to the room so that it was waiting for us after the proposal took place. I had a lot of responsibilities to juggle, and having your team handle those things so effortlessly was tremendously helpful.
Not to mention the hotel is beautiful, the views of Florence are amazing, and the food is fantastic (breakfast especially).
I can not wait to return.
Besides being a beautiful property, the staff and all the small details are one of the best things of this great hotel. On the hills around the old city of Florence, this is (if not the best) surely one of the best 5 stars hotel in town. You won’t regret!
