What We Love

  • About a 10-minute drive from the center of Florence, and there’s a chauffeured car to take you there
  • True Florentine grandeur: gilded mirrors and stucco, frescoes, marble statues and silk-draped four-poster beds
  • Manicured grounds with fountains and a white stone pool surrounded by statues
  • Full-service subterranean spa, including a hammam
  • An indoor gourmet restaurant, Il Pacha, and from May until October another restaurant overlooking the pool and the gardens

What To Know

  • Opulent decor throughout — not the choice for minimalists
  • If you want a view of Florence, get a room on the top floor; below that the city sights are obscured by trees
  • The pool is closed from November to April
  • The wallpaper and fabrics in many of the rooms have an abundance of roses (a nod to Empress Eugénie’s fondness for the flower), so if florals aren’t for you, request a rose-free room

Breathtaking

This wasn't a hotel stay, it was an experience that contributed substantially to the magic of Florence. The Villa Cora is the standard against which all other hotels in the world should be judged. From the moment we arrived, to the moment of our departure, our four day stay exceeded all expectations. The hotel itself is a visual feast. A beautiful mansion built just after Italy became a country, but also modern in every way. The two don't clash thanks to a brilliant restoration that seamlessly blends old and new with exquisite taste. But the heart of this hotel is the service. The staff felt more like personal assistants than hotel employees. How did they find a staff that is so thoroughly professional and gracious? On multiple occasions they anticipated our needs before we even asked. One of the trip's great treats was a beautifully presented breakfast each morning. The food - delicious, the presentation - magnificent, and the servers were pitch perfect. It was as if they stepped out of a novel. What a wonderful way to start each day in Florence. Bravo Villa Cora!

Simply The Best

We were extremely impressed by the experience and luxury of Villa Cora. It's a historical palace in Toscana's heart, near Boboli Garden. But, the special/main feature is the service of all the team. There was no limit to make us happy. A special reference to the Maitre of Breakfast that did his better for us, beyond he is a elegant and pleasant man (please Vanessa Giovannelli, help us to remember his name - Followed the picture with him). All concierges and front desk team were very kind. There was a little inconvenient with shuttle service, but they knew handle so well that the episode was totally overcome.

An island of elegance

An island of elegance in a rose garden in the hills above Florence, one of the most beautiful art cities in the world. Lovely rooms, beautiful gardens, luxurious spa, and a rooftop champagne bar with magnificent views.

A Gem in Florence

We spent 3 nights in Florence as part of a ten night trip to Italy. We considered two nights in Florence, but wanted flexibility to do a day trip to Cinque Terre. We found Villa Cora and were very excited to see the hotel. It was fabulous, the overall accommodations, staff, food and rooftop view were incredible. It was a little out of town, but worth it with the daily shuttle service. Pool side restaurant had great food, fresh fish and phenomenal service. Our room was a little small, but that didn't detract. It had an outside patio. Great breakfast, a little pricey but worth it. Truly a 5 star experience.
