How to Get There
Breakfast was ok and typical of any Italian hotel. Eggs, meat, cereal, pastries, etc. It was a good breakfast.
The location of this hotel can't be beat! It is central to everything so walking around Florence is very easy from this location. All rooms have a fridge, so that was nice and we enjoyed the terrace very much.
The rooms were very small. We booked standard rooms. Perhaps if you book deluxe, it would be better, but they were very small as was the shower. The rooms were clean enough, but the décor is terrible. To each his own, but it was the worst décor we have ever seen in a hotel. They had a coffee service on our floor, but it seemed that no staff was looking after it. No coffee or milk, just lots of cups.
What a beautiful surprise when we opened our shutters and window and leaned out! (Room 302) Look to the left... oh my! The beautiful duomo facade! From my photos, you can see I couldn't get enough of that view at various times of the day. Loved the helpful staff who are good for restaurant recommendations. Fantastic location.(Our local guide was very impressed when she picked us up.) Elevator was much appreciated! We slept well all three nights and were happy to return each afternoon and evening to this cozy spot. Good breakfast each morning too!
On this trip I’ve stayed in Venice and Rome, however my break in Florence was absolutely made by this hotel. The location was incredible! Right next to the Doamo.
The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was great and you could choose to eat in or out. You’d always be asked what coffee/tea you wanted upon arrival.
English was excellent.
I will be recommending this to anyone visiting Florence. A lovely boutique hotel with such character.
My wife and I spent one lovely night in the Rodo Hotel Fashion Delight earlier this month and would definitely go back. The Rodo is located a very short walk from the Cathedral di Santa Maria del Fiore. The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms updated, even featuring a heated towel rack, and include a continental breakfast. The staff were helpful and courteous, storing our bags when we arrived before our room was ready and after we checked out. Would definitely return!
The location and the staff were excellent. However, the room we were in was terrible. We had the “suite” (room 301) right next to the entry—avoid this room if you want to stay here. At 1:30 am, we were awakened by loud talking as people entered. At 3:30, we were awakened by someone with about 10 bags going in and out—didn’t get back to sleep until 5 am. Then at 7-ish, people started going in and out for breakfast, presumably. Worst night’s sleep in a hotel that I can remember. The set-up of the hotel is not conducive to peaceful slumber, unfortunately. There are many other options in Florence.
