How to Get There
We stayed for a trip to see the Foo Fighters, definitely not the cheapest place in Florence but we had heard good things from friends. We were not disappointed walking in off the street and they knew who we were having booked a transfer that had called ahead as he dropped us in a one way street 2 mins walk away.
Anyway the hotel is superb in just about everyway, from the tiny lift to take you from floor to floor (there are four and lots of stairs) to the amazing decoration of the whole place makes you feel like you are staying in a merchants home full of books and interesting art.
It was mens fashion week as well as the festival so very busy but even without asking they had a table for us on the terrace outside, fizz from the local region given free on arrival and I mean a bottle not a glass. The beds have an option of linen or cotton sheets or the highest quality, one of our rooms overlooking the square the other to the rear with a private terrace and a view of the Duomo.
Nothing is too much trouble and food/service/range of drinks is top drawer.
Again it's expensive but if you want a treat or you have loads of cash have a night there or stay all month you won't be treated any different I am sure, we planned it for nine months and loved every minute of it, now off to save up for the next time
Situated on a beautiful piazza in central Florence, JK Place stands out for its excellent staff and service: always smiling, lots of helpful advice in planning your day. The food was delicious, and the outdoor dining area looking out onto the piazza was an oasis from the busy streets. Select your room carefully as they are not big and many are split over two floors. In particular, our bath was small and difficult to get in and out of. There is a bijou bar on the roof.
The only thing there is to say about the level of service you receive from this hotel is WOW!!! My wife and stayed for 3 nights as part of a 12 night stay in Italy and I left worried about how other hotels would match up. Starting with the welcome every facet of our stay here was fantastic. The breakfast is wonderful - anything you wish to order off the menu at your disposal. The rooms were well kept and somewhat modern compared to other European hotels. The location is perfect. The staff is super accommodating. Most of all there is Andreas. Never have we received such care taken from a member of hotel staff. He is the manager of food and beverage and make sure you get to know him. My wife loved the granola and we received a massive bag from him at checkout. One night my wife and I came home from dinner and the hotel had put away the afternoon/evening snacks. There was a blackberry tart I was partial to. I made a joke as I went upstairs that I would miss the tart until the next day. Five minutes later there is a knock on our door - of course it’s room service with two pieces with full silverware!!! Little touches like that set this place apart. A most definite return when we make it back to Florence and will stay at their newest property in Capri.
Recently took a day trip to Florence from Rome and stopped here for lunch. We sat outside which was quite enjoyable with the exception of the pigeons constantly hanging out at the empty tables.
The food was decent but a bit overpriced for what it was. I would return knowing that it’s a nice location, well covered from the afternoon sun, and decent food.
We travel often and widely and prefer to stay in boutique hotels. JK Place ranks among the best. Only 20 rooms. Wonderful, personal service. Great location. Lovely restaurant. Room was on the small size but fully equipped. Great bathroom and shower. Breakfast included plus complimentary food everywhere. Fresh fruit in our room renewed daily. Nibbles in the lounge at all hours, etc. Roof terrace. We felt very much at home and among friends here.
