A 19th-century palazzo in a posh Florence neighborhood, stuffed full of antiques and Renaissance artwork

The Look

Housed in a 19th-century palazzo, Hotel Regency is a beautiful marriage of Old World elegance and contemporary convenience. Stuffed full of original Second Empire furnishings and gilded Renaissance artwork good enough to merit museum status, it feels more like a private estate than a hotel. The public areas are a kaleidoscope of styles, colors and patterns. Think rose-colored walls, antique paintings, crème couches, patterned carpeting — and an antique piano forte thrown in for good measure.

Bed and Bath

The 32 guestrooms and nine suites all feature individually selected antique Italian furnishings, rich tapestries, upholstered headboards and silk drapes in a Tuscan color scheme. The bathrooms are equally opulent, with Carrara marble floors, heated towel racks, his and hers sinks and luxe products from 155 Via Veneto.

The Regency is located in a residential neighborhood of leafy sidewalks and posh parks, just a 15-minute walk from Florence’s historic heart. Take a stroll around the private gardens, or view them through the windows of the aptly named Relais le Jardin, a house restaurant that serves delightfully fresh Tuscan dishes. The grand old hotel is also within walking distance of the Santa Croce church and the acclaimed Accademia museum, and the green respite of Piazza Massimo d’Azeglio is across the street.

we had a suite and apart from a few language misunderstandings with the catering staff the service was excellent . whilst a bit far from the centre most places were within 10-15 minute walk so we didn't mind that .The wifi was excellent and the reception staff were very helpful

I would stay here again! Top-notch service and so quaint. The staff would assist you with anything you needed. I walked everywhere I needed to go. The room was perfect and very well decorated. I am really enjoying these small luxury hotels. Loved it!

A marvelous place

I loved staying in this little luxurious hotel, being a bit far from the city center, it was a great quite place. Overlooking a small park, where you can see dogs and little children playing. The room was really nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The breakfast was small but delicious.

Great hotel in a peaceful position

The staff here are so pleasant and most helpful. We were shown 2 rooms on arrival. We had booked a Deluxe room and were also shown a Junior Suite with a small supplement. We chose the deluxe room we had booked as it was a good size with a huge double bed and good size bathroom with a large bath, sink, toilet and bidet. Bathroom had a very good hairdryer and a magnifying mirror but only 2 small lights over the sink. There is a quiet A/C and room safe and a small walk in wardrobe. Our room was cleaned well every day and there is also a daily turndown service with towels being changed at this time too. There is a good buffet breakfast with hot food as well as the usual cereals, croissants, cheese, fruit, cakes etc. Wonderful staff who are always on hand to bring coffee, tea or cappuccino and offer refills too. There is a lovely outside terrace where you can have your breakfast or a snack and drink any time of the day, weather permitting. Downside is that to get into the centre of town it’s either a taxi which takes around 10 minutes or a walk of about 15-20 minutes. Upside is it’s quiet and restful. Would recommend.

A great choice for Florence

We stayed at their sister hotel in Rome twice so we decided to try their other hotel in Florence and it was a very good choice. The room was very reasonably priced as rooms are spacious and beds are amazing! Nice bed and linens. You could not hear noise from streets in Florence.
Service was faultless! Staff are so friendly and helpful and fast to offer help to sort anything you need. Very fast and on point service.
Good breakfast buffet too with great coffee.. and even cream if you prefer that to milk!!
Location is perfect. A 10/15 min walk to duomo and the streets on the way are nice to walk down to get an idea on local life, cute stone streets (easy to walk) and cafes, shops and I prefer to walk a little to get Experience and see things. If you stay right in front of the duomo what’s the point. I don’t think you experience the same. But also this hotel is quiet enough that when you are resting you are Just away from Crowds, so peaceful and quiet and safe.
We would definitely stay here again. We loved the room, service and location.
