Renowned as the world’s cultural capital, Florence is bursting at the seams with Renaissance architecture, historic artworks and famous sights, but there’s more to this place than the statue of David, the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio (though these are impressive, too!). Look a little closer, and you’ll see the streets are alive with a youthful energy, so take a while to browse the high-end shops, soak up the Italian atmosphere and observe the eclectic locals as you sip your Campari.
Set in the heart of the city, along the Arno River, is the ultra-chic Hotel Home Florence. Mixing the traditional elegance of the city with modern touches and whitewashed interiors, the hotel will make you feel utterly relaxed, as soon as you cross its threshold. After a busy day of exploring the impressive Uffizi or snapping the majestic Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, unwind on the hotel’s rooftop terrace, which boasts spectacular views of Florence’s stunning cityscape.
Good to know
Please note that a city tax of €4.50 per person, per night is payable directly at the hotel.
The elegant and minimally designed Cyrus rooms are entirely white and mix simplicity with glamorous Italian furnishings.
Homemade cakes and pastries are served in the bright and airy breakfast lounge each morning, as are rich Italian coffee, fresh fruit juices and tea. The cozy armchairs and pool table in the elegant loft provide the ideal place to switch off in the afternoon or evening with an aperitif or two.
Located on the Arno River, Home Florence boasts a beautiful setting. Just a 10-minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi and the Santa Maria Novella, the hotel puts you in the ideal spot for sightseeing, shopping and relaxing. This classical Italian city is a Renaissance beauty, with a plethora of centuries-old museums, churches and palaces to explore.
How to Get There
The hotel has an awesome location to a walking distance to all important sightseeings. The whole atmosphere is friendly but professional in the same time. My single room was basic but very comfy and clean. I would advise superior floors if there is a sensibility of noise level in the morning.
Excellent service from reception staff, housekeeping and even the host.
The events they are organising are absolutely brilliant and It’s a must to attend it if you are around. I had a lot of fun at the one I’ve attended it and simply got in love with #andreacasta ‘s music.
Small boutique hotel decorated in total white, very pretty & stylish. Staff are pleasant but uninterested in explaining anything such as the apertivo or facilities. Breakfast was fine, basic and as per other reviews, in a communal setting with minimal to no staffing.
Rooms are small but comfy, the bathrooms are a good size but lacking in amenities such as storage/shelving, towel rails, hooks etc.
Location is good but as we were there in the middle of winter, it was a little too far on a cold night from the restaurants in the middle of town.
The title says it all pretty much. The hotel is lovely and modern, breakfast is great and the view from the rooftop terrace is worth staying there alone! Staff are also fantastic. Location is great - about 15 minutes from Ponte Vecchio and 5 from Santa Croche with lots of restaurants. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
Our booking included a free room upgrade, if available. I also emailed the hotel prior to arrival requesting an upper floor room so it was disappointing to be shown to Room 106, below street level with a high up window you can't actually see out of. However, the very helpful receptionist relocated us to Room 210, a great improvement but why couldn't this have happened on arrival.
Also we weren't comfortable with the group seating arrangements at breakfast and staff seemed to have difficulty coping with numbers struggling to replenish mugs, cutlery etc.
On the plus side all reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and the location of the hotel was excellent, it just wasn't the right hotel for us.
The internet was terribly slow - reminiscent of dial-up days - which proved very frustrating. The other thing that was disconcerting was mold on the base of the shower stall - not on the floor of the shower but on a stone tile ledge surrounding the base. It was pronounced & gross - but switching rooms would have been inconvenient for our short stay. It sounds like this issue wasn’t experienced by others (from the reviews) so maybe they’re in the process of updating...? The bed was super comfortable though so that was a pleasure :). Good luck in Florence!
