How to Get There
This is a very centrally located hotel just minutes away on foot from most points of interest in Florence, which makes this a great home base. We have stayed in several comparable properties in Florence, and this one holds up well against its competitions.
The front desk staff are all very welcoming and friendly. I feel bad for forgetting her name, but a very nice lady with stylish glasses helped us with the check-in process and showed us our very nice room upgrade from a Junior Suite to a full Suite overlooking Palazzo Strozzi.
Our suite is very spacious with two very large floor to ceiling windows and extremely tall ceiling. It has that "palazzo feel" to it. The bathroom is a bit on the small side and we feel that the toilet could be positioned better. One interesting thing about the tub and shower combo is that there is no shower curtain or glass to prevent spillage. Thankfully the water pressure was not too strong to cause problems, but we had to exercise caution when showering nonetheless.
This time we experimented with shipping our luggage to our final destination after our four day stay in Venice to make our train travel easier as traveling with two large pieces of luggage can be a royal pain on trains with minimal luggage storage. The concierge Gabriele helped us with the entire process from contacting the shipping company, contacting our next hotel and making sure all of our luggage is well packaged. He really made the whole process super simple! With his help, we were able to travel light to Venice which made our journey so much more enjoyable.
The breakfast staff are equally charming and friendly. Although the breakfast offerings are a little basic and eggs are not what I normally would prefer, but, fortunately, a made to order egg dish can be ordered without additional charge. We had an unforgettably fun napkin folding contest at the breakfast with the staff that lightened our days.
All in all, our stay was truly memorable thanks to all the helpful staff at this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for its personal touches, great location and heritage.
This is the perfect place to stay in Florence for the first time. The decoration is sober and comfortable, The place is an old Townhouse. Great people working there and ready to take care of you.
The rooms are spacious and super well equipped with refine linens and bathroom toiletries. The housekeeping team is alert and available always.
They have a great breakfast room that serves a delicious breakfast (sometimes included)
They also have a small bar with comfortable areas to seat and relax.
The location cannot be better.
It is always a pleasure to see a "Team Oriented Crew", They just want you to have the best time. I will come back.
We stayed there from 18th to 22nd May 2018 with family. It is located in an area buzzling with activities and most conveniently located, walking distance from the shopping malls, tourist attractions, bars, restaurants, etc..
I spent a week at the hotel in 2016 and again in 2018. I love the hotel. The location is fantastic, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the service is outstanding. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Florence.
Together with my wife I came to this traditional luxury hotel
in the heart of Florence. The hotel is an institution and we
really liked our elegant and very tastefully decorated junior suite. You really feel like in a typical Italian Palazzo.
Only the bath room doesn‘t fit the rest of the hotel room because it lacks some modern equipment. It‘s small and not
However the rest of the hotel is so perfect including the
very friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel is also very well located and so close to all historical sites in Florence. You can do everything by foot.
I can only recommend this hotel to everybody coming to Florence!
